The pros and cons of NIFT Chennai.

Faculty: Teachers are biased, there is a north India, south India stigma and partiality. Teachers are moody and judgemental. Innovations and ideas are not encouraged in front of aesthetics. It can be disappointing at times bit the college experience is great.

Placements: Placement is fairly good. Almost 90% in accessory design. It depends on the student's caliber and portfolio rather than grades. Some of the courses struggle in placements but a good portfolio really helps. Companies are not very high paying initiall...

Absolutely satisfied with this college, everybody is helpful. Just go for it if you want success.

Faculty: There are more than 50 faculty members, who are designers, professors, Indian as well as foreigner faculty members. The college provides 7 courses in an undergraduate degree, 2 in postgraduate, and some Diploma programs as well as LD, TD, AD, FC, KD, FD, DFT, MFT, MFM, and some Diploma programmes.

Placements: Everywhere in the country or abroad, it is one of the top designing colleges in India and holds 4th position in India, best for leather design and all programs. Many placement companies like Calonge, Hi...

Great infrastructure and facilities, okay faculty members, placements are also okay.

Faculty: With regards to the faculty in the campus I am sad to say that I have a few positive things to say. Like all colleges there are great faculty members and really sad ones. I learnt a lot from all my faculty members in the first year but when I reached my parent department there were only three to four faculty members who I found very knowledgeable in the subject matter. There are great guest lecturers who come to visit though. Throughout our course we were taken for industry visits and craft and ...

An outstanding campus architecture and exciting college crowd as well as diverse atmosphere.

Faculty: The faculty are professional in conduct. Weekly, classroom conduct meets take place, which helps to improve the course and staff approach as well. The course includes leather bags, jewellery, furniture as well as other material explorations and a craft cluster study. The resources have to be sourced from outside and are not provided by the college.

Placements: The placements take place in the same venue, i.e., NIFT campus, where one can showcase their portfolios. The companies which normally come for placeme...

NIFT Chennai is the best and it will always be.

Faculty: The faculty members are hard working they even work on Saturdays. They make us work on weekends too to get the full benefit of our course and also our money which we put in to get fashion education from the top fashion colleges of India. Mainly our course is process-based so we mainly play with fabric and some other materials from which we can make our products. We often visit the industry to see what latest designs are there, what are they up to and how to give a finishing like them.

Placements: The placeme...

Best learning with best environment.

Faculty: Because of this course I can apply anywhere in fashion industry. There is no restriction as in the other courses having. Faculty members are so strict here not that much of friendly but they are so motivating, only because of their strictness today I get the success in my line and much more to go.

Placements: Placements and internship programs which are provided by the college were so amazing. I had learned a lot of things during the internship programme where I had applied theory skills in a practical way. ...

A different experience filled with enjoyment with the locals and made a lot of friends.

Faculty: As I'm an engineering graduate and I did my post graduation as a designer, I can say that both the fields are different. In engineering, you can pass an exam by studying overnight, but in NIFT, that's not possible. You have to present your six months work in front of the jury which was tough for me.

Placements: This college has a central placement rule with lots of opportunities, and you can go to any NIFT campus for placement, but you can choose only 3 of the campuses. Apart from that, you can get PPO from ...

I was quite satisfied with my college environment facilities, faculty members were nice.

Faculty: Our faculty members were knowledgeable, qualified, helpful, as well as full of surprises regarding types of assignment were given by them and they are always ready to share extra knowledge. Teaching quality was excellent, fun and entertaining some time. There were subjects which made our studies full of excitements and made us feel to learn a bit more about the topics brought up to us in each classes. Teaching methods were many like taking us to industrial visits, fashion shows, exhibitions, pho...

NIFT, Chennai one of the best centers to do your fashion degree as the standard of education they offer is enhanced by experienced professors from the design and garment industries. Infrastructure is brilliance but needs more attention on personal facilities. Chennai being a metro is again one of the reasons you should pursue your education here as you will come in touch with various cultural and social events in the city which in turn help you knowing about the various cultural, artistic value ...

I'm satisfied with our college.

Faculty: Teachers in our college have helped throughout the year. No matter what the question is, they're ready to answer a million times. Our course curriculum is not only relevant but also helps you gain a lot of skills. Our college not only teaches you the curriculum but also life skills, which makes you a better person overall.

Placements: Around 3 seniors from our college got placement for 25 LPA recently. That means B.FTech specifically has good placements at NIFT. Some of the other department seniors got place...

The entire environment is not suitable for every student.

Faculty: Teachers here are well qualified and knowledgeable, but not all of them are helpful. Otherwise, their method of helping us doesn't help much, and instead of that, it increases our fear and keeps pressure on us. The course is relevant in some ways, but it prepares students to handle industrial pressure.

Placements: Placements are low for our batch compared to the previous year. The average salary offered is Rs. 15,000 per month, which is less as per the fee we pay. Recruiting companies of our college change a...
