Review of NIT Manipur - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placements in our college were below average, and we saw relevant placements only for IT/CSE departments. You can find better placement opportunities in a good private college as compared to this NIT. When I asked the TPO regarding the placement for M.Tech, they turned a blind eye. Anyone joining this college for tag value can surely do by all means but be prepared to look out for jobs from the 1st year, and I advise to all try to get internships in good companies. you can later bag your job easily from the company itself or any other one since you gain some experience. However, we had an SMDP lab where companies like INTEL, NXP or Synopsis forward an invite for interns which our faculty members fail to mention sometimes. Don't miss those opportunities.
Infrastructure: The of the food served was the worst. We had to an argument every day with the person-in-charge for a decent meal. Despite being a college which is around 10 years, old there are no proper hostel facilities. There are two playgrounds that most of the people mentioned are just empty wasteland.
Faculty: There was a lot of expensive equipment which was collecting dust because there were no faculty members who know how to use them. As for the ones which were required we had a shortage of them despite having the facilities with the required knowledge. In short, it was not organized. The course curriculum is helpful for your fundamental understand but is a bit outdated. Not letting students apply for internships for extended periods was a big drawback which was later rectified after I forwarded an official letter to the director.
Other: The campus life is good, and there were plenty of extracurricular activities which students can participate.

A review by an unlucky student of NIT Manipur.
Placements: For postgraduate students, there are no placements. There are so many complications with placements because there is no training available for travelling requirements. They keep a huge amount of money for investments, but there is no development. There is no proper placement cell in NIT, Manipur.
Infrastructure: There is no infrastructure in the college. Approximately, 1000 crores are funded by MHRD, but there is no infrastructure development. Where all money has gone, and there is no improvement. Sometimes in June and July, there is a flood in NIT campus. All labs got damaged due to this disaster.
Faculty: There are only two PhD faculty members in our department. All other faculty members are from Manipur only. Overall, the college faculty belongs to Manipur only (approximately 90%). Even in the administrative department, 100% belongs to Manipur only. There is a lot of corruption. Check on the website then you a lot about Manipur only.

I am not satisfied with the faculty placements and infrastructure.
Placements: The placements for M.Tech students are not good, but B.Tech students have many opportunities. They got a good job, and the package on an average provided was 4 lacs per annum. Many companies came, but for so many times, you will go for pool-campus in NIT Silchar and Agartala. So, you will have a problem regarding these.
Infrastructure: The college is under construction. The facilities are not good. There are two campuses. One is Takeyalpat, and another one is Langol. Now, the academic campus of Takeyalpat will be shifted to next semester, but in Langol campus, there are many problems during rains, and there is a lake nearby.
Faculty: Some faculty members are good, but in M.Tech, you have to prepare yourself. Overall, it is good. The course curriculum is also good, but sometimes, the syllabus will not be completed by some faculty. There are lots of problems, but we survive only for a degree, but not for knowledge.
Other: For the PhD student, they give scholarship time to time, but the M.Tech student has to wait for 2 to 3 months. The campus crowd is not so much. The connectivity is not good, and it is the only way to come with the airline, auto rickshaw or taxi.

Average infrastructure and facilities. Placements are good.
Placements: As per the last year's records, placement is average. For Undergraduates: Total number of companies visited - 20 The highest Package - 17.5 LPA Average Package - 5.6 LPA The lowest Package - 5.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not so great, a lot of part is still under construction. Food quality is good. They provide North Indian as well as North East food. In canteen you will get almost every thing. But for girls there is no such thing as night canteen.
Faculty: The professors are very helpful and qualified. Their teaching qualities are also very good. They have a good knowledge about the subjects and, their basic are quite clear. The course is curriculum relevant and I think it make students industry ready.
Other: The facility of Computer Science department is really good and helpful.
