NIT Nagaland MTech is offered across four major specialisations including Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Communication Engineering, and VLSI Systems. The courses are offered through the various departments under the institute. MTech at NIT Nagaland lasts for two years and is spread across four semesters.

NIT Nagaland MTech admission 2025 is open as the GATE 2025 exam is open now.
1: Qualify for GATE
Students must appear for GATE exam 2025 for the MTech course. The GATE usually conducts the tests in Jan. Admission to MTech at NIT Nagaland or NIT Dimapur is subject to a valid GATE & aspirants must visit the official website of GATE to apply for the same. The application fee for GATE is non-refundable & non-transferable. To apply for the same, aspirants can follow the step-wise GATE application process mentioned below:

The list of docs that must be submitted during the GATE application for MTech are as follows:
- Image of candidate's signature
- Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format
- Passport-size photograph with white background (JPEG/ JPG format only)

2: Apply for CCMT counseling
Students with a valid GATE score are eligible to apply through CCMT. Aspirants must visit the official website of CCMT & register themselves. They must select NIT Nagaland as their preferred institute.
3: Seat Allocation
Post the exams, based on the NIT Nagaland cutoff, CCMT will allocate seats online according to the candidate's GATE score. Leftover seats will be filled in through Institute Entrance Examination after CCMN counselling. There are special seat reservations for students belonging to special categories.
4: Seat finalisation
Once the seats are confirmed at NIT Nagaland Students can pay the tuition fee at the NIT Nagaland's official website.

NIT Nagaland admission process is entirely entrance-based. No, you can not get into NIT Nagaland's BTech programme without having appeared in JEE Mains. The main selection criteria of the course is scores obtained in the JEE Mains exam only, hence, admission without it is not possible. Participating in the JoSAA counselling is also necessary.

You can get CSE in GFTI as per the JoSSA counselling cutoff last year. You cannot get any branch, like CSE, ECE in NIT at this rank.
