Yes, you can get admisson at NIT Mizoram with a rank of 50000 if you belong to the General AI category (but only to a few BTech specialisations). For the NIT Mizoram cutoff 2026, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 27320 to 51417. As per this range only one branch can be availed, ie., BTech in Civil Engineering, with the round 1 cutoff of 51417.

NIT Mizoram PhD admission is entrance-based. The eligibility to apply for PhD at NIT Mizoram is a master's degree in relevant stream from a recognised university. The final selection is done on the basis of GATE/ UGC NET /Written Test/ Merit, followed by personal interview.

Yes, NIT Mizoram offers financial assistance to students. The institute offers scholarship through National Scholarships Portal (NSP). Students must apply through the NSP/other portal based on their eligibility and required documents.
The fees for studying B.Tech in NIT MIZORAM is Rs. 95,750 per semester including the tuition fees.
Category Benefits for students.
Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Physically Handicapped gets 100% tuition fee waiver.
Economically backward students (whose family income is less than Rs.1 Lacs per annum) gets full remission of the Fee.
Other economically backward students (whose family income is between Rs.1 Lacs to Rs.5 Lacs per annum) 2/3rd of the fee.
The NIT Mizoram University does not take any direct admissions. In order to take admission for any engineering course in NIT Mizoram one has to undergo JEE Mains examination, and has to score a valid ranking according to the cutoff released. This is followed by JoSAA counseling and CSAB counseling. Eligibility criteria includes 75% aggregate in 12th class and JEE Mains score.
