New Government Dental College Kannur.

Placements: The college offers a BDS course here. For that, you can start a new clinic or focus on postgraduate courses. It is well known for the good skill training in clinics, either during your academics as well as during the internship period. As a government college, which was changed later in 2019, it provides more public sector exposure as well.

Infrastructure: The hostel is located at a distance of about 500m inside the campus itself. Students have the facilities of the college bus during lunch breaks. The hostel has ample parking areas for the students. The hostel is combined for both MBBS as well as BDS students. Inside the hostel, a mess, canteen, and play areas are there. For laundry, washing machines are provided, and there is a dedicated gym and an air-conditioned hall for studies.

Faculty: The faculty members are of great value. They are helpful in achieving the basics in dentistry. Dentistry is a field where you have to seek skills. The college comes under KUHS University and follows a 2016 scheme, where they conduct two internals and a model. Qualification in this will allow you to write the final yearly exam.

Other: The college has a large campus, adequate facilities, and patients. It is located near NH 66. The faculty members and staff are supportive. There are various celebrations here conducted by the college union.

A complete college life.

Placements: Pariyaram Dental College is one of the best dental colleges in Kerala. The BDS program here is a 5-year duration course that includes a compulsory. About more than 30% of students get jobs right after graduation. The average starting salary for BDS graduates is around INR 4-10 LPA. Narayana Health, and Aster DM health care are some of the top recruitments. Top roles offered in the course include general dentist, dental surgeon, and orthodontist.

Infrastructure: Pariyaram Dental College has enough facilities and a good infrastructure for our BDS Course. The department has well-equipped labs, spacious lecture halls, and a good library. The college provides hostels for students and has good facilities. The food quality is average depending on the message contractors. The college canteen provides delicious food. We have emergency medical facilities available. The college provides different sports activities like badminton, football, basketball, softball, cricket, etc. They conduct sports competitions also.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent. Since Pariyaram Dental College is a government college the faculty inductions are based on tests and interviews so it ensures quality faculties. The course curriculum is very relevant. The course duration is 4.5 years with a compulsory internship it provides hands-on experience and practice training to help develop skills. We don't have semester exams we have university exams. Lab exams are conducted yearly. The level of the exam is moderate to difficult. The pass percentage is 50%.

Other: I'm a 2023 batch student. I'll be passing out in 2028. I chose this course as I was interested in becoming a dental surgeon. The best thing about this course is that it's a hectic job. It provides different opportunities in dental careers. Even by setting up a clinic we can generate a good income. Our college celebrates every general event. There are annual college day celebrations. Pariyaram Dental College is situated near Pariyaram Medical and Ayurveda College so the campus is crowded at every event. The college offers scholarships like E grants to support students. College life is really fun.

My opinion about this college.

Placements: No campus placements are provided by companies in my college because it's a dental college. We are studying this course to become doctors. Only a 1-year internship program is provided by the college after the final year. It's very helpful to improve experience and skills in clinics.

Infrastructure: There are well-built classrooms, lecture halls, and preclinical and clinical labs. Wi-Fi is available in each department. The library has AC and Wi-Fi. It has separate hostels for both boys and girls, which are 10 minutes apart from the college. It is near a medical college named Priyaram.

Faculty: Teachers are MS graduates and very friendly and approachable. It is a 4.5-year course with 1 year internship. There are two internal and 1 model exam for theory and practical. Based on these marks, we can appear on university exams. In our college, exams are very tough so correct study is required.

Other: I appeared in the NEET exam and based on my marks I got alloted to my college. The best thing about my course is we create a smile. But there are a lot of artwork and skills needed. Initially, it will be very challenging but later we can do our best. The college really supports all kinds of extracurricular activities and events like Onam, Christmas, college day, Halloween, freshers day, etc. The government provides e-grant scholarships also.

Better choice for every BDS students.

Placements: There is no placement that can happen because it is a government dental college. So after completing graduation, you can prepare for the PG examination or start your own clinic. There is a one-year internship program provided by the government with a stipend of 280000.

Infrastructure: Well-formed labs for preclinical work and other subjects. Good and hygienic clinics for each department. Wi-Fi is available in the library. An eco-friendly campus, a hostel, good food, about 8 canteens on the campus, and a synthetic stadium are there. Smart classrooms are available.

Faculty: All the teachers are helpful, friendly, and easy to approach. They are all qualified MS doctors with good knowledge. Exams are comparatively more difficult than higher secondary exams. There will be 2 internal and one model exam. Only those who qualified these exams can appear in university exams.

Other: Admission is through NEET. Every month there will be any kind of festival or celebration, like college day, union day, arts, sports, etc. Other is the Grantz scholarship.
