The names of the entrance exams for the Poona College of Pharmacy PharmD course are BV PHARMUG and BV PHARMPG. The college offers two courses in Doctor of Pharmacy, which are three-year and six-year. Candidates can pursue a six-year PharmD course after completion of Class 12 and a three-year BPharm course. The names of the accepted entrance exams are given below for both courses:

To get a seat in the PharmD course at Poona College of Pharmacy, candidates are required to complete their Class 12 from the PCM/ PCB stream with an aggregate. Additionally, for PharmD (Post Baccalaureate), candidates are required to complete their BPharm course with a decent score. 

Further, candidates are required to appear for the entrance exams, i.e., BVP CET (BV PHARM UG)/ BV PHARM PG, at the given time and schedule. 
Candidates who got shortlisted in the merit list are required to appear in the counselling process, conducted by the college's admission department. Whoever gets selected in the counselling process can pay an adequate amount of course fees and get selected. 

To get admission into the PharmD course at Poona College of Pharmacy, candidates must complete the minimum eligibility criteria according to the Doctor of Pharmacy course chosen. Firstly, candidates must qualify for their Class 12 from PCM/ PCB with a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for reserved category)/ BPharm course with an aggregate of 55%. 

For admission to PharmD, the college accepts BV PHARMUG scores, and for PharmD Post-Baccalaureate, the college accepts the scores of BV PHARMPG. Both of the entrance exams are conducted by BVDU under BVP CET. 

The official placement statistics have not been released yet. However, the college has released the NIRF report 2024, which incorporates the 2023 placement data. As per the report, 72 BPharma and 86 MPharma students were placed during 2023 placements. The median package for BPharma courses stood at INR 3.60 LPA and for MPharma courses, the median package recorded was INR 4.10 LPA. No, GPAT scores are not compulsory to get admission into the MPharm course at Poona College of Pharmacy. Because the college also accepts relevant BV-PHARMPG scores. Therefore, candidates with scores in any of the entrance exams from these two can get admission into the MPharm course. Thus, GPAT is one of the accepted entrance exams for admission to the MPharm course. However, it is not compulsory.
