Review of Welingkar Institute of Management.
Placements: The average salary package offered ranges from 4 LPA 5 LPA. Good placements were offered for Marketing and Finance stream. Major IT firms such as Accenture, TCS, Infosys, etc.and banking institutes like ICICI, Axis and HDFC visit the campus for final placements. Summer internship opportunities were average, and not everyone gets an internship from college. No stipend was provided in most cases. Roles offered in most of the companies are BD or Sales for marketing.
Infrastructure: Our college had one of the best infrastructures. There were spacious classrooms with air-conditioning. The canteen was very well managed. We had a rooftop for events. The library was very spacious and was about 2 floors. We also had an E-library facility with a spacious reading room and small cabins for group studies. Our college also had great facilities like innovation lab, yoga centre, amphitheatre, indoor games room and a gym.
Faculty: Some teachers in our college were good, whereas a few were average. But the second-year specialisation faculty members were up to the mark. Marketing faculty members were relatively better as around 40% of students opt for the same in 2nd year. Since the MS course is a university directed course, there is no much scope for introducing newer concepts. However, PG courses are more in sync with the latest industry trends.

The college is above average in most of the categories.
Placements: Our batch had 120 students in the MS programme, and around 90% of the students got placed. Rest either didn't opt for placements or a particular job profile. To get placed at WE School is easy, and the average salary package offered is also decent. MS course fee is also less than PGDM.
Infrastructure: The college provides great infrastructure, although it doesn't have a campus hostel. The canteen facility is decent, and there is a gym, which is also great. Classrooms have been upgraded and are built with state of the art. Every classroom has a smart TV for presentations.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful and highly qualified with an ample amount of industry experience. The course curriculum is old and not updated as it follows Mumbai University curriculum. The college adds a few courses to provide students with an edge, but students have to put extra efforts to become industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course because it was a combination of a masters degree and a diploma provided by Mumbai University. Students organise very few events. There is just a cricket tournament, which is undertaken on a very large scale. The campus crowd is good.

It is a good college with good ROI.
Placements: Almost 80 to 90% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 18 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 5.5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 7.5 LPA. Deloitte, Accenture, Infosys, EY, HDFC, ICICI, etc., are the top recruiting companies. Relationship manager, analyst, product manager, business development manager, etc., are the top roles offered to students. Almost 90 to 95% of the students got placed in top companies and also in startups.
Infrastructure: The college has all the facilities. The hostel is not available here. The quality of the food in the canteen is okay but costly. The college has a 3d printing lab, smart TVs in all the classrooms. There is a central air-conditioner, gym, and a good recreational room for time pass.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are helpful and knowledgeable. They are around the campus throughout the day and have good in-depth knowledge. The course curriculum is latest with industry-relevant teaching and case studies. The methods taught have real-life applications, and it is helpful.
Other: I have chosen this course as I wanted to make a career in operation management, and this course has helped me take the first step in the right direction. There should be more industry visits and more industry expert lectures. The campus is good with engaging extracurricular activities throughout the year.

Welingkar has lost its reputation.
Placements: During final placements, around 75% of the students were placed. The highest package offered for marketing branch was 15 LPA, the average salary package offered was 4-5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 2.5 LPA. For summer internships, the the highest stipend offered was Rs. 15,000 per month, the average stipend offered was Rs. 5,000 per month, and few internships were unpaid, but only the internship certificate was provided.
Infrastructure: The college has one of the best infrastructures compared to other colleges. It is maintained by collecting high fees from students. The speed of Wi-Fi is good and is accessible from any place in the college. The library is huge enough and has comfortable chairs. Each classroom can accommodate 60 to 150 students. The seats are fixed but not comfortable for an extended period.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are visiting faculty. Some of them have higher work experience in their field. Some visiting faculty members have higher designations. The course curriculum of MS is the worst, but I can't blame college for that. The teaching methods of all faculty members are similar and boring except a few.

Short review of Welingkar college.
Placements: Welingkar has enrolled a lot of PG students of rural, business design, and healthcare department for placements. Thus, the competition becomes tough for MS students. Less number of students should be enrolled in placements. In other colleges like Sydenham and JBIMS, there is less intake of students, and the competition is thus low.
Infrastructure: The campus is compact since it is in Mumbai. The building is small, but the infrastructure is good. We have almost all the facilities. I liked reading hall the most as you can study till ten at night there. You can study in the library also, but I haven't explored it much.
Faculty: The main thing is that faculty members teach fast. It is not their mistake either because they have to complete the syllabus in fixed time. Also, faculty members conduct mock group discussions which help us during company placements. Faculty give practical examples of the concepts that are helpful for us.

In 2016, there was no GDPI for the MMS course. We just had the CAP rounds, after which we had to get accepted into the designated college. However, GDPI was also required for PGDM courses, and PGDM was not offered through CAP. You must complete various forms. CET 2017 will mostly follow 2016; noneth

Hello! PGDM courses (usually PGM Core, e-Business, RBA) have better placements than the MMS course, though the difference isn't too huge. Eventually, it all comes down to one's overall profile, calibre, and some luck to get a good job offer.

PGDM i.e. post graduate diploma in management is provided by institutes that are approved by AICTE (Government of India, All India Council for Technical Education). In most of the cases PGDM is considered to be better than MBA and main reasons are: 1) the PGDM course curriculum is updated yearly whe

Hello, Since the cutoff via CMAT at Welingkar for the MMS course is quite high i.e. around 99.8 percentile, I suggest you rather aim for the PGDM programs. Good luck.

Hello, At that CET score (and considering your work experience), you should surely get an interview call from both Welingkar and N.L. Dalmia. Good luck.
