Applicants are admitted to the BE/ BTech programme through TNEA scores, while ME/ M.Tech admission is done on the basis of GATE or TANCET exam scores followed by TANCA Counselling. Other than the UG and PG courses, the institute also offers full-time and part-time PhD MS across all departments. ME/ M.Tech programme at PSGCT is offered across various specialisations, namely Applied Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, among others. For all specialisations available under PSG College of Technology MTech programme. MTech admission at PSG College of Technology is subject to a valid score in one among GATE/TANCET exam. Additionally, students must be eligible for the course. To be eligible, they must have completed a relevant UG degree or equivalent with 50% aggregate

After filling out the application form, students who qualify for the course-specific entrance exams have to go through other selection rounds followed by course-wise counselling.

• Under TNEA, students don't have to go through any exam but the merit list is prepared using the Class 12 scores of the students
• DTE conducts a centralised counselling process for TN MBA/MCA admission, while counselling for other courses is conducted separately.

A merit list is then released by the conducting bodies for announcing the names of the candidates shortlisted for the courses. Candidates need to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.
