RMK Engineering College is one of the premier private engineering college in institutional engineering college in Tamil Nadu but it is not among the most premier engineering institutions in the country or even in the state, for that matter, such as IIT, Chennai or NIT, Trichy. Despite this it is widely known for its academic quality, the vocational slant given to its courses and excellent placement records.
