A:

Q:   Can I get direct admission at RVITM Bangalore?
A:

Candidates have to pass an entrance exam for admission at RV Institute of Technology and Management. The institute considers KCET or COMEDK UGET scores for BE and KMAT or Karnakata PGCET for MCA. Hence, the institute offers direct admission to candidates with a valid score in the accepted entrance exam under Management Quota.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2027

It has good infrastructure and faculty, but limited placement opportunities for MCA students.
Placements: I am an MCA student of the 2025-27 batch. I think 25-45 percent of students get placed. The highest package offered is 4 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. The average package offered is 4 LPA. Only a few companies visit the campus for placements. Almost all students get internships on the VTU website, but students have to pay for them with some companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but the campus is very small. Even the college doesn't have Wi-Fi for students. Labs and library are good. I don't know about the hostel. There are good sports in the college for both indoor and outdoor games.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Many teachers explain concepts clearly and are approachable for academic doubts. The MCA course curriculum is relevant and covers core computer science and application-based subjects. Semester exams are okay, and we can pass exams, but we should learn more because it is affiliated with VTU. The main thing is that the principal is not supportive of anything, but teachers are very good, and they support a lot.
Other: I chose this course to build strong technical knowledge and improve my career opportunities in the IT field. The MCA course focuses on core programming subjects and a practical approach. The college conducts fests and events well. We will also get the SSP scholarship.

Placements are good. The campus is worse. The crowd is 50 percent good and 50 percent bad.
Placements: Companies that come here are just above average, but the only big thing is that if our performance is good, then we can sit in placements of RVCE. The average package offered is 23 LPA. I would highly suggest that students who are planning to come here to study work hard because it offers opportunities, and we just need to grab them.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is everywhere, like there is no part of the college that doesn't have Wi-Fi, which makes sense because the college campus is very small. The hostel is not available in college, and it has a separate building 2 KM from the college. It has only 1 building for boys and girls, which is just divided by one wall and a tall gate.
Faculty: Faculty members are almost good in this college, except for some, as I'm the first batch of AI in my college. Our AI teacher is not as good as others. I hope that they change the AI faculty. Other teachers in our college are amazing. The course curriculum is very well designed. If we study, we will love it. Passing the semester exams is pretty easy if we study. We need a total of 40 marks in both internal exams combined out of 2 exams. We need 50 marks to qualify for finals.

Good faculty, moderate placements, and good campus facilities.
Placements: Nearly 88 percent of students from our course get placements in top companies. The highest package is 26.35 LPA. The average package is 6.42 LPA. Renowned companies like Amazon, JP Morgan, Qualcomm, Oracle, and Philips recruit students for exciting technical and analytical roles.
Infrastructure: Our college is a learning campus with smart classrooms. Along with well-furnished labs, tables, Wi-Fi, and a good library. The hostels are secure. They provide good food and basic facilities. Students also have access to sports grounds, a gym, and recreational areas for fitness and relaxation.
Faculty: Faculty in our college is knowledgeable, approachable, and teaches through practical insights. The curriculum is designed to meet industry needs,. They help students build real-world skills. Exams are moderately challenging. The pass rate is around 80 percent.

Supportive teachers, decent infrastructure, and better placement opportunities.
Placements: Around 70% of ISE students at RVITM got placed in 2025. The highest package was 26-29 LPA, the lowest about 4.5 LPA, and the average around 10-11 LPA. Top recruiters included Amazon, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Wipro, Tata Motors, PayPal, Cisco, Flipkart, Walmart, and Oracle. About 70-80% of students secured internships at major firms like Cisco and Flipkart, with a stipend of up to 30K per month. Common roles offered were Software Engineer, Analyst, Graduate Engineer Trainee, Supply Chain Engineer, Trainee Analyst, and Data Scientist.
Infrastructure: There is good Wi-Fi, working labs, well-ventilated classrooms with recorded lessons, and the library has a wide variety of academic books. Since I'm not from a hostel. I wouldn't say too much about it. It is very good regarding facilities, but okay in the food available in the mess and canteen. Nice sports, games and also have NSS and NCC.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant but still lacks in making the students industry-ready. Difficult level is normal in the semester exams at this college. The pass percentage is 98 per cent.

Excellent infrastructure, supportive faculty, and a great learning environment.
Placements: I am currently pursuing BE (CSE) from the 2023-27 batch at RVITM. College has excellent infrastructure, supportive faculty, and good learning opportunities. Placements are improving with top companies like Amazon, Oracle, Google, Microsoft, and many are visiting here. Students also get internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: Our course has good infrastructure with Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, classrooms, and a library that provides both physical and digital resources. There are adequate sports and recreational facilities that allow students to engage in games and fitness activities.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified, supportive, and helpful, with good teaching quality that makes the concept clear. The curriculum is regularly updated and mostly industry-relevent, and adding more hands-on practical exposure would make it even stronger. Overall, pass percentage is high.

Reviewing the college as a senior.
Placements: Overall, I would say placements here are really good, especially for CS and IS students. Around 80-85% of seniors got placed. The highest package offered so far is 29 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.5 LPA. The average package ranges between 10-12, which is solid for a tier-2 college in Bangalore.
Infrastructure: Our department has good Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, and a decent library with enough resources. Hostel rooms are okay, with basic furnishings and good Wi-Fi. The mess food is average but edible. There is also a playground and indoor games for sports lovers.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful. Most of them are well-qualified, though teaching quality can vary by subject. Some professors are really supportive and guide well beyond academics. The course curriculum is VTU-based, slightly outdated, but manageable with self-learning for industry readiness. Exams are moderate in difficulty level.

The first thing is maintain the attendance. Because that will become the major factor for your exam. And try to get GPA above 8.5 from the beginning. Start involving in club activities from the beginning. Go to sport activities. The very important thing is don't do mischievous activities in class.
