Karnataka PGCET 2026 Seat Allotment Process
The KEA website hosts the seat matrix issued by the government for each discipline, college-wise, course-wise, and category-wise. Candidates and parents can access the seat matrix details from the website. Once the last date and time for entering options is over, seats will be allotted based on the priority of options entered by the candidates following the government's reservation policy. The order of seat allotment process is as follows:

Karnataka PGCET Seat Allotment Process for ME/MTech/MArch Courses
In the case of full time engineering course admissions through Karnataka PGCET 2026, candidates who apply based on a valid GATE score are preferred irrespective of their Karnataka or non-Karnataka status. However, reservation criteria is only valid for candidates based out in Karnataka. Non-Karnataka GATE rank holders are considered under Open / General Category
Soon after the allotment of seats to eligible GATE rank holders, 90 per cent of the seats remaining vacant under General category are reserved for Karnataka candidates. The remaining 10 per cent seats are filled by the Non-Karnataka candidates.
Karnataka PGCET Seat Allotment Process for MCA Courses
For admission to MCA seats under Ex-Defence and General Merit category, the allotment will be done simultaneously. Eligible MCA rank holders, including candidates who have already been allotted a seat under the Physically Disabled and ME/M.Tech courses, are also considered for seat allotment based on their Karnataka PGCET MCA ranks.
Karnataka PGCET Seat Allotment Process for MBA Courses
Karnataka PGCET MBA seats under all reserved categories, Ex-Defence and General Merit are offered to the eligible candidates at once. Karnataka PGCET MBA rank holders, including those who have been selected under the Physically Disabled or MCA or ME / M.Tech allotment are eligible for MBA seat allotment based on their PGCET MBA ranks.

KEA allocates seats offered by PGCET Karnataka participating institutes in two allotment rounds. Significance of Karnataka PGCET Mock Allotment Round
Candidates can use the Karnataka PGCET mock allotment to check the allotment status based on their priority of options. This helps a candidate decide whether to keep or modify their options. They can also see if a candidate with lower merit than them received a seat they were eligible for but did not choose as an option. Candidates are allowed to alter the priority of their options, delete or add options. However, any changes made after the mock allotment may affect the final allotment; candidates may not receive the same seat that was allotted to them in the mock allotment.
Modification of Options after Karnataka PGCET Mock Allotment Result
KEA facilitates an edit window after declaration of Karnataka PGCET mock allotment results for candidates to edit/alter their options. Candidates are given two options, including modification and deletion of the college-course preference that had been entered during the Karnataka PGCET option entry process. While modification of options, candidates must ensure that no two entries have similar college and course preference.
To move the preference order, candidates have to enter the preference number in front of the chosen option. In order to delete an option. After deleting one option from the list, the preferences underneath the deleted option will be automatically changed in order of priority.
Karnataka PGCET First Seat Allotment 2026
Soon after the modification window after mock allotment is closed, KEA releases the PGCET first round seat allotment result.
