RGIPT MBA Eligibility & Highlights 2026
MBA at RGIPT is offered in three different specialisations, namely, MBA, MBA BA and MBA Energy Transition Management. RGIPT MBA admission is both merit and entrance-based for the MBA and MBA BA programmes, as the institute accepts the percentile scored by candidates in the CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT. Candidates seeking admission to the core or the specialised MBA programmes must meet the RGIPT MBA eligibility criteria as mentioned below:

All information about waitlisted and selected candidates is available on the RGIPT website. Students will be notified about fee payment for admission confirmation. If you fail to deposit the fee within the deadline, your admission will be cancelled. Final admission list will also be available on the website.
A total of 50 students can pursue MBA in Energy Transition Management programme offered at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology. The institute follows the Reservation policy as per the Government of India directives. The seat allocation to the SC, ST, OBC, General and EWS categories is in accordance with the Government rules.
Yes, a final year student can apply to RGIPT MBA programme if he/she scored 60% marks or equivalent based on the latest available grades/marks. If the candidate has completed all requirements and appeared for exam and practical for final year/semester/term and result is awaited for bachelor's degree. Candidate will have to submit final year marksheet and certificate on registration date notified by institute. If the student does not fulfil the above condition, the provisional admission will be cancelled.

Commonly asked questions On MBA/PGDM Fees
Companies sponsor their employees to study at RGIPT who have to fulfil the same eligibility criteria as rest of the candidates. They are exempted from CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT/CUET-PG. Also the candidate must have worked full-time continuously for two years in the sponsoring organisation during application for admission at RGIPT. During this time, the company will continue to offer job and salary to the sponsored candidate during entire duration of MBA.
The institute allows professionally employed persons to pursue MBA programme under part-time category. Such a candidate will continues duties of service at sponsoring institute if their office is within 50 km distance. Candidate must be a regular employee of sponsoring organisation for at least two years. Candidates will have to provide NoC from their head of institution. These candidates are also exempted from CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT/CUET-PG.
Letter of appointment and Form VI issued by employer of two years of service are needed during written test or interview. Candidates must also submit an undertaking that they must continue to submit form VI till the end of the programme.

Those who want admission must fill out application form, should appear for an entrance examination and a Personal Interview and finally pay admission fees. RGIPT MBA admission process is explained below:
STEP 1: RGIPT MBA Application Process 2026
Candidates seeking admission to MBA or MBA BA programme must fill out online application form available on RGIPT website. Candidates seeking admission through the CAT exam must also fill out the CAT registration form. In the online application form, candidates must provide their personal phone number and email ID for registration. The final step of the application process is to pay the non-refundable RGIPT MBA application fees of INR 1416 (INR 708 for SC/ST/PwD/Girls candidates) in the online mode. Please save a copy of submitted application for your future reference. Also remember that any incomplete application forms or forms that are received after due date will be rejected.
STEP 2: RGIPT MBA Selection Criteria 2026
Appear for the CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT. Following the appearance in the entrance examination, selected candidates are called to appear for online PI process as per specified timeline of institute.

- The PwD category students also have to fill the PwD form and Scribe affidavit along with the exam application form. This is necessary for getting scribe facility and PwD facility at the test centre. The CAT application form is same for students from all categories. Those belonging to a particular category (SC/ST/PwD) will be required to mention it in the relevant field of the CAT form.

You will not be eligible for admission as preparatory ranks are not considered under round 1. Since you have already qualified to appear for JEE (Advanced), all you need to do is meet the second criterion and apply for round 2, which will be only conducted if seats from round 1 remain vacant.

Yes, you can still get admission in Round 2 if you meet eligibility criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) and have a valid JEE (Mains) rank. Also, you must have scored 60% or above in class 12th. For SC/ST/PwD category students, 55% or above is required.

Application fee for RGIPT B.Tech is INR 600 + INR 108 (taxes) for SC/ST/PwD and female candidates. For all other candidates, the application fee is INR 1200 + INR 216 (taxes). This fee is non-refundable.
