B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2023

Review of School of Engineering and Applied Science, Ahmedabad University.
Placements: Placements are good in our college. Many companies visited the campus to recruit all UG engineering branches like CS, etc. Nivea, Fobes Marshall, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, Cargill, etc., visit our college to recruit our course students. Our college provides placements and internships for our batch. The highest salary package offered by a non-IT company is 7.8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges between 4 LPA - 6 LPA. If you are serious about placements and prepare well, you will get a good salary package in a reputable company. Companies offer average or below-average salary packages.
Infrastructure: The mechanical labs are good, but they aren't the best. The campus is neat, clean, and green. It has high-speed Wi-Fi. All classrooms are air-conditioned. Our college has two libraries. They have all the course-related books. Our college has a new hostel building.
Faculty: Most of the professors are very knowledgeable and have done their studies at reputed institutes like Stanford, Harvard, TU Delft, Cornell, IITs, etc. They are approachable and willing to address your queries. They conduct exams strictly. They expect punctuality from students during the exam time and scrutiny during the exam. The academics are difficult.
Other: The interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum attracted me to join this university. The crowd and campus life are good. Our college conducts many fests and events throughout the semester.

Many students received internships from college. Approximately (30%). Some of the companies they interned at were Pidilite Industries Limited, Milacron Engineering.
Infrastructure: In terms of facilities, the college is very well equipped with the latest machines, infrastructure, labs, classrooms & Library. College provides high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity around the campus. There are a lot of computer labs with the latest software for educational purpose.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful & knowledgeable. Every faculty here has a minimum qualification as a PhD. Teachers are highly approachable and friendly. Also, teaching techniques are unique and fun. The curriculum is well organised and focuses more on the practical approach to any given problem.

A review of School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Ahmedabad University.
Placements: Placements in our college are very promising. Lots of satisfied students got their deserved jobs and opportunities. There is a special department in our college for placements. If the students are confused about the placements and their dream jobs, they can call to career development centre (CDC).
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is sophisticated, clean, and hygienic. There is a great awareness among students regarding cleanliness. All the facilities are suitably available for students. You are going to love the vibes here. This is less stressful and least exaggerated place.
Faculty: Our course is well-constructed. Faculty members in our college are very well aware of the needs and requirements of students to fulfil the course outlines. Regular assignments and projects keep students hooked well with the course. These are enough for the students to earn great scores and amazing credits.
Other: The college atmosphere is great. There are good vibes all over the college.

Our campus environment is good, and our college provides good growth.
Placements: The placement cell is quite effective in helping students to get placed in core companies. I have interacted with our seniors, and they told me about the placement training provided in the college. The placement records of last year were satisfactory. Placement opportunities for the mechanical department are high compared to other branches, but they need to maintain a balance between all the departments regarding placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is well maintained. I stay in a PG, so I have no idea about the hostel facilities. My friends told me that the hostel facilities are satisfactory, and they have access to the Wi-Fi 24/7. Classrooms and labs are quite good, but the chemistry lab is not much updated.
Faculty: Our professors are well qualified. They provide thorough knowledge about their subject. Courses are also updated, and good industry exposure is provided. The student to faculty ratio is satisfactory as there is not much crowd. Teachers are available for each subject.
Other: The college organises events like AU fiesta, TED talks and Garba events. Extracurricular activities are organised quite often concerning the cultural background of Gujarat. There are a lot of opportunities to enjoy during studies, and our college provides quite good exposure.

The quality of education offered in the college is very good.
Placements: The placements of the college are good for ICT branch. The highest package offered for ICT branch students was around 15 LPA and is offered by Amazon. Also, the company named Hewlett Packard visited the campus for placements. The average package offered was around 5 LPA. For the mechanical department, the highest package offered was around 5 LPA. As only one batch of the mechanical engineering department was passed out, the package offered was not much high.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The classrooms are well-equipped with the latest facilities. The labs and mechanical workshops are maintained well with all the latest technologies. I did not face any issues regarding the infrastructure of college.
Faculty: Teachers here are very kind and helpful. Quality of the teaching is also very good. Mostly, all the teachers are using digital methods. They explain each concept with the help of videos which help us build a strong base for higher education. All the teachers are ready to clear doubts at any time. The course curriculum was very useful.
Other: The college organises many events. Every Wednesday events are conducted. There are various clubs formed in the university.

There is project based learning in the interest of students.
Placements: The first batch of mechanical engineering graduated in 2018 with salary packages ranging from 2.8LPA to 3.25 LPA. The placement in mechanical engineering is quite less than the ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Mainly, companies like Amazon, Havells, Siemens, GNFC, Maruti Techlabs, etc. visited the campus. Also, we have a placement cell which is dedicated to the students' development.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our campus is well designed and properly maintained. There is Wi-Fi facility available, but with some restrictions to prevent misuse of the facility. It also has customised labs for different courses. The campus is also having a two-floor library and medical facilities. The canteen food is hygienic and uses quality products.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable in their respective fields. Some faculty members are very helpful in some matters. The teaching quality overall is average. We have project-based learning method for proper understanding. We get industrial exposure during internships and project work.
Other: The surroundings around the campus are covered with different colleges. There are many events and fests during the curriculum. The campus crowd is fascinating and cheerful. There are different clubs like entrepreneur club, dance club, management club, etc., as a part of promoting extracurricular activities.

Faculty are good. Placements should be better. Infrastructure and facilities provided are good.
Placements: As our first batch has graduated, they got decent placements. The packages offered ranged from 2 to 3 lacs per annum. The highest package offered was 3.25 lacs per annum, and the average package was 2.80 lacs per annum. Organisations like Internshala, Amazon, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and Siemens visited the college for internships.
Infrastructure: Facilities like free Wi-Fi, labs for every other subject you choose, library with every book you need for your course to study, recreational centre, basketball and cricket ground are available on the campus. Classrooms and labs are well-equipped and well-maintained. Central air-conditioning facility is provided. Canteen maintains proper hygiene with varieties of delicacies.
Faculty: Faculty members are very much helpful and have PhDs in their subjects. Project-based learning is used for a better understanding of students. There is 1 faculty member for every 20 students. As we have project-based learning, we learn about practicals and working mechanism, so we get more practical exposure. The course curriculum was directed for us to give maximum input and we get most out of it.

Ahmedabad University makes a student well-prepared for life.
Placements: The placement cell is quite impressive for the information and communication technology (ICT) branch. Placements in mechanical and chemical engineering branches are not very good. The highest package offered for ICT students has gone up to 15 lacs per annum, but the highest package offered for mechanical engineering students has been only 3 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The campus is very good. Study rooms are available on each floor. The college also has two huge libraries which have a wide range of books. It has well-equipped labs for all subjects. There is also a special workshop for mechanical engineering which has many instruments such as laser cutter, 3D printer, etc. Hygienic food is available in the canteen.
Faculty: The university follows excellent course curriculum which leads to the overall development of students. Engineering students get a lot of industry exposure. All the teachers are very helpful and kind, but at the same time, they also expect us to maintain the decorum of the college. Teachers try their level best to solve all the problems which the students face.
Other: The college encourages all types of extracurricular activities including sports, music, dance, etc. There are annual technical fests and cultural fests that give everyone a fair chance to showcase their talent.
