Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma.) - Batch of 2029

B. Pharma review at SGSITS Indore.
Placements: 44 percent of students are placed in 2024. Out of 59 eligible students, only 26 got placed. The average is around 3 LPA. The lowest is around 90,000 to 13,000. Lupin, Sun Pharma, Mankind Pharma were the top recruiters. Top roles were pharmacist, trainee roles related to sales and marketing of pharmaceutical products, etc.
Infrastructure: Labs are updated, and frequent industry visits take place, though limited in the first year. The library is the same for B. Tech and B. Pharma for all years' students. Hostel is run down, and food is horrible. Wi-Fi isn't available in hostels. There are lots of water problems in the hostel. Very limited medical facilities exist. There is a first aid shed outside the first-year boys’ hostel, which is only open for the first few hours of the day and remains closed the rest of the time.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, especially the senior faculty. The curriculum is relevant, and it does make students industry ready. Exams are very difficult. 50 percent is needed just to pass in theory papers. Many students fail, but here there is no concept of semester back. One is directly given a year back after he/she has failed in 12 subjects, including theory and practical.
Other: The campus should be more engaging and vibrant, which dropped due to the appointment of a new director in early 2025. He has ruined the college. I opted for this course due to my innate passion in Biology and ambition of contributing to pharmacy in the future and helping the world around me by making a positive impact.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2029

If you are from Madhya Pradesh, then definitely prioritize this college.
Placements: The current placement scene in SGSITS is not very good, but not very bad, it is just below average. As you know, the current job market is down, but still students of lower branches like industrial production secured a package of around 8 LPA to 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: The campus size is small, but the college is located in the centre of the city, Indore, so everything is nearby. Don't expect quality faculty, the labs are a little too old, campus has only 1 cafe, canteen food is good, but hostel food is like 3/10. The hostel seats are very limited for boys.
Faculty: Some teachers are literally like elder brother and sister, but some are more than enemies, for example, my Physics faculty is very cruel. The difficulty level of the exam is medium, but there are many exams and too many assignments, work, and projects.
Other: If you are from Madhya Pradesh, then you have no better option than this. If you are not getting any NIT or IIT, the fee is too high. The per-semester fee is like Rs. 1,10,000, so try to get a scholarship.

B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2029

It has high fees with zero facilities.
Placements: In the information technology branch, around 70-80 percent of eligible students get placed every year. The highest package is 40 LPA for rare students. The average package ranges from 7-9 LPA. Some major recruiters for the IT course are Accenture and Infosys. In this college, the Big Four companies also visit the college.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are very bad because the hostels are very old. The hostel food at my college is very bad. Sports facilities are not much better. There is no Wi-Fi in hostel rooms.
Faculty: Many teachers of the college are well-educated and knowledgeable. Many of them are PhD holders. They are experts in their subject. Core subjects like DBMS and networking are taught very well. The institute also encourages coding and mini-projects. The pass percentage is 80-90. Faculty members are good in my department. They are experienced.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest, and nowadays, the IT sector gives us a good package. In my college, events are only for name. There are no cultural fests. Events are organised. The campus is small but not bad. There are many plants in the college. In the main gate, there are a lot of ducks. We get scholarships like Medhavi, post-matric, etc. This year, a new director named Neetesh Purohit came, and the college fee has doubled. This is the main issue because there are no facilities according to the fee.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2029
4.6
4Placements4Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
It has strong academics with growing placements.
Placements: Civil engineering saw 60 percent of placements. The average package is 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course are Tata Projects and Shapoorji Pallonji. 40 percent of students secure internships in reputed firms such as L&T and NCC. Roles like site engineering, design, or field like AutoCAD software, etc., are offered here.
Infrastructure: The Civil Engineering department at SGSIT Sindhor is well-equipped with special classrooms, Wi-Fi, modern labs, and a rich library that supports both academic and projects. Hostel facilities are decent with clean rooms, regular maintenance, and basic medical support. The mess and canteen provide average food. Sports grounds and indoor games encourage recreation and fitness. Overall, the infrastructure balances academic and study life efficiency.
Faculty: Faculty members in civil engineering are qualified, supportive, and generally helpful in solving doubts. Teaching quality is good, but sometimes, more practical exposure could be added. The course curriculum is relevant and updated, focusing on industry skills, design, project management, and software use, which makes students industry-ready.
Other: I chose civil engineering because of my interest in design, structure, and practical application in infrastructure. The best part of the course is the balance of theory with lab work and exposure to industry projects, faculty guidance, and peer collaboration, which makes learning engaging.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2021

It is overall a good college.
Placements: Placements are better than those at some other colleges, and they give decent packages and also internships. According to my sister, who studies here, this college is autonomous, so placement is pretty good here. You can get good placement offers compared to any other college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Classrooms and labs are good. I don't know about hostel facilities as my sister lives in a rented flat, but she said that the college is good, the campus is also good, and the labs are pretty good, so that you can learn something, whatever your course is.
Faculty: Teachers and facilities are good. My sister said that she has good and understanding teachers, and they study well. As the college itself is autonomous, I guess there is a good and helpful environment. Exams are also conducted and are moderate.
Other: Good campus life and events.

SGSITS has good faculty, average placements, large alumni network, very high fees and limited campus
Placements: In IT branch, on campus about 60 to 70 percent of students are placed, including off campus. 80 to 85 percent of students are placed, while others opt for higher studies or other career options. The least package offered iss 3.5 LPA, the highest package offered is 36 LPA, and the average lies around 8 to 9 LPA. Top companies that recruited last year are Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Oracle etc. Talking about internships, on campus, hardly 10 to 20 percent students get internships in Goldman Sachs, and sometimes Amazon. Top roles offered are Assistant Software Engineer, Software Trainee, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus size of our college is just 35 acres. Considering the limitations of the area, the campus is built well. It has a cricket ground, a basketball court, a tennis court, and a sports complex. It has a computer lab, a central library, stationery, a gymnasium, a canteen, and a dining hall. Wi-Fi is not available in the whole campus its available in a few parts, like library & computer lab only. For newcomers, I have mentioned that the gym is there, but its of no use for most of you because it opens after 5:30 pm and has limited equipment. Its mostly captured by seniors.
Faculty: No doubt, faculty members are awesome. All are Ph.D. and Masters from IITs and top institutes. The best part about faculty members is that they are supportive, understanding, and willing to teach students, especially in IT department. There are 2 mandatory midterms, and an optional mid sem exam is organized, and as usual, semester exams are there. Difficulty of exams is much harder than in other institutes in M.P. About 20 percent fail to pass the exam in atleast one subject. Curriculum is updated this year, especially, but its not fully aligned with the needs of industrial requirements.
Other: I got this course based on my JEE rank. The best thing about the course is that placements in the SGSIT branch are good, and the department is also good. The things to be improved are that theoretical work should be reduced, and industrial requirement academics can be added. Cultural fest has been discontinued for a couple of years. A techfest named AAROHAN is held, the crowd is limited, although this year intake of students has increased by 30 percent. College is situated in the center of Indore city. All government and private scholarships for category and general students are available here, like MMV, Post metric etc.
