B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2029

The facilities and placements are decent, but the fees are a bit high.
Placements: Currently, I am in the 1st year of the SGSITS Indore Electrical Engineering branch. Approximately 60% of the total students were placed in core and technical sectors. The highest package was 19 LPA offered by ORACLE Inc. in a technical role. The average was 7.5 LPA. The lowest package was 3.5 LPA offered by TCS. The top recruiters include Havells, Oracle, Deloitte, and TCS. The top roles were in core and technical sectors.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the college are decent, but the fees being charged for them are a bit too high. The classrooms and labs are equipped with all the required instruments. The library is good, and a lot of books are available here that are needed for every course. The food is decent, but again, the fees are very high. The total fees for a semester are 48,000 rupees. The sports facilities are not that good, but you can play almost all the casual games. The gymkhana is good and is equipped with all the workout equipment, and the charges are 400 rupees per month.
Faculty: Teachers were qualified, and almost all were PhD holders. The teaching quality varies from teacher to teacher, but you can understand if you pay attention in class. The curriculum, I feel, is a bit outdated, which is the case with almost every engineering college. The semester exams are fairly tough, but you can score well if you attend the lectures and study a bit before the exam. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose this course because, at my rank, I was not getting better branches at good colleges, and I wanted to go into the core sector also. My home is just 100 km from Indore, so that was another reason for choosing this college. Everything is fine, but I feel the fee is a bit too high. The tuition fee is 1,05,000 per semester, but you can also get a scholarship. There are no such fests at all in our college, sadly.

Teachers are supportive, and have a good placement record compared to others in Madhya Pradesh.
Placements: Around 80% students' placement data of CSE, IT, ECE and around 50-60% for other branches. The highest package goes around 25 LPA, and the lowest around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Mastercard, Goldman Sachs, Oracle, etc. Almost all students get internships.
Infrastructure: You will get all basic facilities, including a library, all sports facilities, well-equipped classrooms and Wi-Fi facility with a computer lab. Medical facilities are also available, and hostel and mess food are average. If you do not want the college hostel, there are many PG flats available in nearby areas.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful as it is an autonomous college. Semester exams are average. From PYQs, you can get an idea of the upcoming paper. 22/70 marks are required to clear the paper, the course is relevant, and the IT branch is self-financed, so you can get relevant facilities itself in college.
Other: Value for money for Madhya Pradesh residents, as they will get scholarships like MMVY, post-metric, and many others.

College is good, but students are not satisfied due to the increase in fees.
Placements: 80 to 85 percent students get placed other go for higher studies and some go for government exam preparation. The highest package is approximately 25 LPA, the lowest is 5 LPA and the average package is 7 LPA. Top companies are Larsen and Turbo, L&T, Tata Projects, kalpataru etc.
Infrastructure: College has good facilities, it has a large cricket ground. Good basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court, lawn tennis court. The college has a vast collection of books in the library. Students get a monthly magazine and daily English and Hindi newspapers.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and very well qualified from top IITs and foreign institutes. Teachers have good knowledge of their particular field. Some things are relevant, others are not, according to my experience. Semester exams are moderate.

College is better for the students in Madhya Pradesh than other private or government colleges.
Placements: Good for a state engineering college. Placement rates vary by branch and batch but are typically strong for CSE/IT and improving for core branches. IT services and product companies TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, some product firms and startups, regional manufacturing and engineering firms. In recent years, Tier-1 Indian product startups and mid-sized firms have participated. The average package is around 12 to 13 LPA for CS and IT, and the highest is 24 LPA by Goldman Sachs on campus.
Infrastructure: The campus of the institute has amenities like a Co operative store, Dispensary, Bank, Canteen, Staff Quarters, Hostels, Gymnasium, Sports Complex, etc. Very soon, there will be a post office inside the campus. The Golden Jubilee Auditorium of the institute has a seating capacity of 275 people. The canteen of the college serves food and beverages to students, staff and faculty members.
Faculty: Most of the faculty have graduated from the same colleges and from other government colleges of Madhya Pradesh. Some professors from NITs have done PhD from top IITs. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are not as difficult paper come from RGPV.

Faculty members here are very interactive and supportive.
Placements: For specifically CS, IT, and ECE, the placements here are pretty good, and for core branches like ME, CE, EE, and EI, they are not up to the mark, it was around an average of 5 LPA to 6 LPA. There are other branches like IPE and BME, particularly BME and IPE, where the average salary offered is 3 LPA to 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: SGSITS hostels offer decent, sometimes basic, accommodations. However, hostels here are expensive but have good amenities. Food quality is mixed (average to poor in general, better in newer messes), medical care involves a dispensary, and sports facilities include grounds and indoor games, though reviews suggest food/facilities vary, with many nearby cafes offering better food options than the canteen.
Faculty: SGSIT semester exams here are generally considered moderate in difficulty, manageable with consistent study. As per my friends' view, exams aren't excessively hard if they revise previous years' papers and stay updated, with strict invigilation ensuring a good passing rate.
Other: Shri G. S. Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS), Indore, offers a vibrant student life with a blend of technical events and extracurricular activities, a good student crowd, and a central location within the city.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma.) - Batch of 2029

B. Pharma review at SGSITS Indore.
Placements: 44 percent of students are placed in 2024. Out of 59 eligible students, only 26 got placed. The average is around 3 LPA. The lowest is around 90,000 to 13,000. Lupin, Sun Pharma, Mankind Pharma were the top recruiters. Top roles were pharmacist, trainee roles related to sales and marketing of pharmaceutical products, etc.
Infrastructure: Labs are updated, and frequent industry visits take place, though limited in the first year. The library is the same for B. Tech and B. Pharma for all years' students. Hostel is run down, and food is horrible. Wi-Fi isn't available in hostels. There are lots of water problems in the hostel. Very limited medical facilities exist. There is a first aid shed outside the first-year boys’ hostel, which is only open for the first few hours of the day and remains closed the rest of the time.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, especially the senior faculty. The curriculum is relevant, and it does make students industry ready. Exams are very difficult. 50 percent is needed just to pass in theory papers. Many students fail, but here there is no concept of semester back. One is directly given a year back after he/she has failed in 12 subjects, including theory and practical.
Other: The campus should be more engaging and vibrant, which dropped due to the appointment of a new director in early 2025. He has ruined the college. I opted for this course due to my innate passion in Biology and ambition of contributing to pharmacy in the future and helping the world around me by making a positive impact.
