Review of Shri Shikshayatan College.
Placements: Our batch was the COVID batch. Hence, placements were low, but generally, placements were pretty good with companies like PWC, Decathlon, Deloitte, Infosys, etc. hiring students. The salary package offered was Rs. 20,000 per month to Rs. 40,000 per month, depending on the job role. Roles offered were analyst, associate, CA articles, sales and marketing associate, HR, etc.
Infrastructure: The laboratory and library had state-of-the-art facilities. The campus was extremely well maintained and the infrastructure was exceptional. We do not have college hostels. However, good-quality accommodation was available within walking distance. This institute has one of the largest and most well-stocked libraries in the city.
Faculty: The college was under the University of Calcutta and the recommended curriculum was followed. Professors were friendly, approachable and extremely helpful. This college had an extremely high pass percentage, with several university rank holders in each department.
Other: Shri Shikshayatan had great opportunities for all kinds of extra-curricular activities and sports. Plenty of opportunities were available.

I am satisfied with faculty members and facilities.
Placements: In our college, placements were not offered to students. The course structure would help students to find the most appropriate job.
Infrastructure: Classrooms, the library, and hostel facilities were good in our college. A library was filled with many books which would help us throughout the course. The food served in the canteen was good. Air-conditioners were available in each room. There was a separate room, where we can stay in between your classes.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were good, helpful, and well-qualified. They always guide you in the right direction. The teaching quality was good. The course curriculum was relevant and made students industry-ready. The course was more about the practical world rather than the theory. Teachers would mentor us throughout the course in every way.

The college has good faculty, but no campus or exposure.
Placements: There is no placement cell for Economics honors students. From my course, none of the students got any internship or job in any company. So, if you are hoping for a job just after graduation, you are on your own. Although, there is a good placement cell for B.Com students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. A library is available. But computer labs are not accessible without any teacher's assistance. The canteen and common room are average. There is no other facility. There are no sports and games, but there are a few clubs you can be a part of.
Faculty: The faculty members are really good and friendly. They help us through all the doubts and have profound knowledge of the subject. In my personal opinion, the curriculum does not make the students industry-ready. The whole curriculum is theoretical and not application-based, although economics has major areas which include application. The semester exams are quite difficult, and it is very difficult to score good marks.

The college has one of the best faculty in Kolkata.
Placements: I am personally dissatisfied regarding the placements of our college. There are very few companies who come to our college for placements or internships. The companies which come for placements focus more on B.Com and BBA students. This year, the stipend was not more than 15K.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. There are plenty of rooms for each course, with AC in each and every room. There are also labs for different course such as Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Geography, etc. Our college has a canteen but it is not very well maintained.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are highly educated, friendly and expert in their respective fields. The curriculum is up to date and relevant. Although the syllabus of Economics Hons. is lengthy which can be hard to cope up with but the teachers help in each and every way.

Overall, it is a great institution in terms of facilities.
Placements: I am pursuing B.Sc (Hons) in economics in this institution. Academics in this institution are quite good with supporting teachers and excellent facilities. I don't have much idea about placements, but I have heard from our previous batches that placements are quite good here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is great, and there are air-conditioned rooms, labs and a library. The library is equipped with whatever books we want for our course. The canteen is also great and is very spacious. Even there are different rooms like a common room, yoga room, AV room, etc., for different kinds of activities.
Faculty: Teachers play the main role in our department in this college, and they provide us with all the possible help we need. They are highly qualified and experienced, which is helpful to make us understand the subject in a very organised way, which in turn make us well aware of our course.
Other: I have chosen this course because I have a curiosity to know about our country's economy. There are various fields to get a perfect job through this course. Our course would have been perfect if our college had provided research works. Our college organises many kinds of events on a day to day basis, and we can explore different kinds of activities which can help in our all-round development.
