St Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering.
Placements: All our alumni were placed in various companies, such as core and non-core jobs. Some of them executed their own start-up ideas too. Our seniors got placed with a higher salary package of up to 10.5 lakhs per annum and an average salary package of up to 3.6 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: We have a good security system on campus and we can't move out without getting permission from the authorities. We have strict security systems within the GATE and we can't move out without a GATE pass. The GATE pass should be signed by class advisors and the HOD.
Faculty: Our teachers were very strict. We weren't allowed to take leave often. We are required to take leave only in cases of emergencies. Taking too many leaves will result in attendance shortages, penalties and sometimes problems with writing exams too. Also, we should be on time for the classes.

Infrastructure: A large spacious library with seperate halls for searching and reading. We are served with nutritious high quality foods, in our canteen. All the medical emergencies available within our college campus. There is a free wi-fi facilities available within our campus at all the time.
Faculty: Good experienced faculty members and they were expertise in their respective subjects. They make themselves more updated on their works regularly. We had higher academic results at all the time with university rank holders. And it's little bit tougher to clear exams.

Life in SXCCE: the place where I evolved and found a career.
Placements: I am in my final year and my college has taken many measures to improve the number of students placed. Special training programs have been done from the past year(2016 pass out batch). For the last batch, about 60 students were placed. The packages offered were between 15000 and 30000. The students were placed in Mayfire, Zoho, Cognizant, Infosys and three more companies. Only half of the companies visited the campus for recruitment but due to tie-ups with other institutions, the college managed to expose its students to many off-campus recruitment drives. For my batch, the students' training was more intense and meeting today's trend and need. While I am writing this review, the placement season has just started and our students got placed in all the recruitment drives so far. About 20 have been placed now itself, and the companies offering the placement are SmartDV, Tech Mahindra, ABS Software, and Softsquare Solutions. I got placed in Tech Mahindra for 22,000 per month for first 6 months training and then 28,000 per month for the next 6months. The packages offered this year till now are from 15,000 to 28,000. The placement cell is very good with 60+ students placed on campus and 120+ off campus last year (2016).
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connectivity of 20 Mbps is present all around the campus with access only to the faculty members, PG students and final year students. The other students can also use but after getting permission. The Wi-Fi is well-protected by a firewall which does not allow us to search a name of a movie star or sports-related words. The firewall blocks all social networks as well. The labs are well-equipped but not so glamourous as in movies. The infrastructure overall is good with a decent hostel, a good library and an average canteen. I am a hostel student, and the hostel rooms are a little cramped with 3 to 4 persons in a room which are not so spacious. There are no attached toilets in a hostel, but the hostel food is good. The hostel is free enough as there is no restriction on mobiles and laptops until the study hours. Since it is top in all sports at the district level, the college has prize winning cricket, athletics, handball, football, and basketball teams. There is a gym in the boys' hostel. The library is good with online linking so you can check availability and request books using the college's Intranet.
Faculty: The course curriculum is based on Anna University syllabus. The college offers an ideal environment for studies and engaging in extra and co-curricular activities. The teachers are not so proficient in handling modern study tools but they use audio-visuals and PPTs to explain the context to some extent. The college, from 2016, started to conduct a technical fest for its students. The first edition was not so bad but average and poor in managing and innovations in the event. There are no big technical events unlike the top colleges but many useful workshops are conducted and a conference every year for every single department. For every four years, there is an international conference for every department and for the other years, national conferences are conducted. So, every student of every department can attend an international conference in his period of study.

Other: My college is good in lab facilities as far as the engineering colleges are concerned in nearby areas. Department-wise, it is average but the staff members try to maintain the balance, a few staff members are good and a few are yet to try. The campus facility is somewhat good but there is no proper ground for any sports. The college is helping the students grow professionally by having IEEE,IET,NCC,NSS etc for which the college spends the amount too. The bus facility here is also good. But, there is no proper arrangement for doing project in the college campus except system-based.
