Good for a head start in the higher education journey.

Placements: My college doesn’t provide any placements for this course as it is a Bachelor’s degree. But it provides good knowledge on how to engage in the topic so that we can learn how to do fieldwork. Teachers provide a better understanding so that we can perform fieldwork properly. They guide us on how to deal with problems so that we can apply for jobs outside the college. Sometimes students get internships from statistical-based companies, but mostly the internships are from NSSO.

Infrastructure: Facilities provided by the department include a big, spacious classroom and a computer lab. The college also provides Wi-Fi connections and a library where we can study. There is also a department library from where we can issue books whenever we need them. Teachers help us understand which books are required for the syllabus and semester. I cannot say much about the hostel facilities as they are only provided for boys.

Faculty: Teachers for the course are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They provide a better understanding of all the subjects. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. It provides knowledge of fieldwork and also prepares us for the student industry and the outside world. The semester exams are normal to difficult, but they help us understand the subjects better. The passing percentage of the college is good, as it provides us the facility to clear back papers if needed.

St. Xavier's college Ranchi insight.

Placements: Talking about placement is the only thing that is very rare, as there are very few companies coming and students are not getting those job opportunities. Our course statistics are in great demand these days but placement opportunities are very limited. There are some seniors who got placed in different states, but chances are very low and out of 100, only 1 gets placed.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is no doubt very nice and talking about classrooms and libraries, they are very nice, with cooperative teachers and Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Hostels are being provided with food, Wi-Fi and all other basic necessities. But the hostel is only for boys. There are three canteens. All are nice, hygiene is maintained and prices are very reasonable and affordable. Various sports and games are also being conducted from time to time.

Faculty: One thing I like about this college is its study. Teachers and professors are no doubt very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The syllabus is being completed and proper teaching is done. There are two semester exams every year and two midterm examinations are also being conducted. Passing in every examination is compulsory and exams are moderate and a little bit tough but good for the students.

Other: I chose this course as I have had an interest in data science, graphs and calculations of data since 9th grade, when there was an introduction to statistics. I think there should be a lot to be done to encourage and extend this course among students. The campus is very clean, green and beautiful, with lots of trees and plants and a variety of flowers and birds as well. Scholarships are being provided to the Sc, St and OBC students.

It's all about data (statistics)

Placements: There are very few opportunities for placement in our college, especially in Statistics Honours. The college should work on improving this. Our professor told us that if we work hard and are capable of doing an internship, then the NSSO team is willing to recruit us and give us the opportunity to work with them.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good, as it has nice and well-established buildings. I don't know about the hostel facility because the college only provides hostel facilities to boys, and I'm a girl. However, talking about other facilities, the college has 3 canteens and good medical facilities.

Faculty: Professors are very kind and humble. They teach us in very simple words, and if we have any doubts, they always give us time to solve our queries. Semester examinations are conducted every 6 months, and talking about the difficulty level of the exams, in my opinion, it's not easy at all; it's one level above average.

Other: I have chosen this course because Statistics honours course is not available in most of the Colleges in Jharkhand and I really want to opt this course because Statistics provide number of opportunities in every field.

All about ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE RANCHI in brief .

Placements: In my course, I.e., B.Sc. Statistics, there is no on-campus placement. However, there are placements for B.Com. Accounts Hons. and BBA. The average placement of these courses is 2–3 LPA. But you can get off-campus placement if you have good marks and know all the basics of your course.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of St. . XAVIER'S COLLEGE RANCHI is very nice. You will get the vibe of British rule when you see the infrastructure. The whole campus is Wi-Fi-enabled. There is one common library, and there are other libraries department-wise. It means every department has its own library, from which you can get the books.

Faculty: All the faculty are very experienced, and they are humble too. They are always ready to help you and solve your doubts. B.Sc. Statistics is an emerging course. It has many scopes. The semester exams are always conducted on time, and they are not too hard. If you solve PYQs, then you can easily pass the exams.

Insight of Xavier's College, Ranchi.

Placements: Students must have at least 50 percent in Maths in 12th boards. There are not many placements in this course. But some students got placed from B.Sc. Statistics with the highest package of 6 lac and the lowest of 3 from Wipro. At most, 20 percent got internships from NSSO. There are many roles one could get like data analyst or data management.

Infrastructure: Good Wi-Fi connection overall campus. We have a central library having a large number of books, and there are many departmental libraries for different departments. We have a hostel facility but only for SC ST students. The hostel provides good quality food with different food options changing weekly.

Faculty: Teachers are very skilled, qualified, and very helpful. You can ask any questions at any time. They always help you with a smile on your face. Our curriculum follows the syllabus of Ranchi University, focusing more on theory parts than practical work but current faculty members are assuring that practical work won't be affected by this.

Other: I personally selected this course because there is so much scope for this course. Today's world is a world of data, so I personally thought to pursue Statistics. I personally think that under Statistics, more practical and software study should be included so that we can compete with the technical world. Our college organizes a fest every year in the month between May to June and a sports day which lasts 3 days. OBCs, SC, and ST can apply for scholarships and can get up to 40000 as a scholarship.

Our college is a good place to build yourself.

Placements: Some local and top companies visit our campus but with lower pay and limited selection.

Infrastructure: Our college provides all facilities, but management gives preference to backward classes when allotting hostels. Wi-Fi is available. Labs are good. The library is excellent. The hostel mess is not good, but the canteen is good. There are facilities for football, basketball, volleyball, and indoor games.

Faculty: Our teachers are qualified and supportive. The course makes students industry-ready. The pass percentage is 40%. There are six semesters to pass to get a degree, two each year, and you have to earn credits to get promoted to the next year. In the 1st year, it must be 50% of the total credits at stake to be eligible for the 2nd year. To be promoted in the third year, you must earn 75% of your total credits during the second year. In our course, there is no PG course at this college, so everyone moves to BHU, IIT, or ISI. Our teachers help us go for further study.

Other: I chose this course because of my interest in it.

Review of St. Xavier's College.

Placements: Placements in our department are very rare. There were no placements in the previous year. Our teachers insist to do a master's degree in statistics for better placements. Our college provides many internship opportunities for us in different private fields. Our seniors are in very well-reputed positions after doing their PG.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are good. There are a lot of books in the departmental library. There is a central library in which all department students can study. Wi-Fi is available in our hostel. The quality of the food in the mess and canteen is very good.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent. Our course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not much difficult for students who study well. The pass percentage is around 80-85%.

Other: I opted for this course because I liked mathematics.

The college has good infrastructure and facilities, and knowledgeable and qualified faculty.

Placements: There are only a few opportunities in B.Sc. stats from this college, but there are good placements in other departments. The highest package offered in B.Sc. stats is 4 LPA in the 2019 batch. The average package offered is about 2.5 LPA. Some top IT companies come from Jharkhand.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. It has well-maintained labs and gyms. The mess food quality is very good. The campus has a basketball court, football ground and badminton court. Hostel facilities are not much good, so I prefer not to take hostel.

Faculty: The faculty members are very helpful and knowledgeable, and their teaching quality is quite good. B.Sc. stats students are not made industry-ready. Students have to do M.Sc. Semester exams are not much easy. The pass percentage is more than 90%.
