B.Tech. in Safety and Fire Engineering - Batch of 2027

It offers excellent education with practical exposure.
Placements: I am from the B.Tech. in Safety and Fire Engineering courses. It is a top college with a good placement record. Top recruiting companies for our course are HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji, KPMG, and Ernst & Young. Students also get placed in government fire departments and disaster management authorities. Internship opportunities are provided in Reliance Industries, Tata Steel, and Adani Group. Top roles offered are safety officer, fire safety engineer, risk assessment specialist, emergency response planner, and environmental health and safety specialist.
Infrastructure: The college offers state of the art facilities including well equipped labs spacious classrooms a comprehensive library and high speed Wi Fi connectivity. The hostel provides comfortable rooms a mess a canteen and a medical center. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy indoor and outdoor games a gym and an auditorium. Additional amenities include a cafeteria and transportation facilities ensuring a comfortable and convenient learning experience.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. Their teaching is engaging and uses interactive teaching methods. The course curriculum is relevant and industry-focused. The course prepares students for industry challenges. Exams are moderate here. The pass percentage is approximately 80-90%.
Other: I chose the Safety and Fire Engineering course for its unique blend of technical and practical skills. Best things about the course hands-on training, industry connections and research opportunities. It should provide more industry collaborations and an updated curriculum. It should have a better infrastructure. Regular events and fests are organised. There is a diverse and supportive community. It has good connectivity and campus surroundings. Merit-based scholarships are provided. Extracurricular activities are held here.

TIST provides crucial four years of your life.
Placements: The safety and fire engineering department offered 100% placements for the last few years. Even though people who have backlogs get 6.5 LPA. It offers great support from HOD and with his contacts, he has made many people in many great companies so far.
Infrastructure: Facilities are decent but labs of safety and fire engineering department is better than the same in CUSAT and it offers industrial level exposure and gives very much knowledge and fests, sports and cultural events are provided and it is better than other private engineering colleges.
Faculty: This course offers practical exposure to industry-like subjects and lab practicals, including industrial visits and extracurricular activities. It has a good faculty-student relationship, with teachers being friendly and students experiencing freedom. The safety field is growing, offering opportunities with good starting salaries. The course includes internal and lab examinations, with subjects being easy to study, except for some difficult ones.
Other: My class consists of 24 students of which 22 boys and 2 girls are there. I chose this college because it provides better opportunities among private engineering colleges that offer B.Tech in safety and fire engineering.

Completely satisfied because of the placement in 2015.
Placements: The placements for safety and fire engineering students in TIST is outstanding. Our department of TIST provides special placement training which is very useful for the students. Every year, the various companies use to conduct the placement interviews in our college. One of our students got placed in Aditya Birla Group of industries as safety officer, and two of them from our college got selected as safety officer in Kochi Oil Refinery.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure provided by TIST is very excellent. The college provides a clean and keen environment for the betterment of our studies. Well-maintained canteen and other coffee shops are there in our college. Fully equipped labs and workshops are available for their respective branches. The machine shop, the playground and the transport facility provided by the college are excellent.
Faculty: The faculty members and the other lab assistants of TIST are very supportive and are very strict in study matters. They all have a good mentality of clearing the doubts of the students. They concentrate more on effective teaching by conducting seminars and project works.
Other: Every year, the inter-college sports tournaments and the inter-department game tournaments are conducted in our college. They provide necessary training and camps for the talented students. Every year so many taleneted engineers are born in our college. TIST provide not only B.Tech course but also MBA and M.Tech for various branches. Safety construction industry is one of the rare M.Tech programme provided by our college.

TIST Safety branch graduate 2013-17 review
Placements: There were no placements for the students of the safety branch. It was very disturbing. Five to six IT companies and some call center companies came for placement. But there were none for safety people. The IT job average salary was around Rs. 8000 and the call center job starting was about Rs. 6500. The IT companies that visited were Easy Soft Technologies, Inter Smart Solution Pvt Ltd. The call centre companies were Sutherland and other private agencies.
Infrastructure: The campus allocates Wi-Fi facilities to the senior students upon getting a signed consent from the Principal stating the requirement. Even though being a technical institute, mobile phones (camera phones) are prohibited inside the campus. Lab facilities were good. Except for the low number of fans, the overall classrooms were good. The rooms had good space and were well-insulated from the outside noise. The library facilities were up to the mark. Medical facilities were average as the concerned doctor would only be available for few hours. The college does not entertain the advancement in sports or games. They were hesitant to conduct the annual sports day meet last year and was conducted due to the sheer will of the students. Technical events like Advay were banned from last year. The hostel rooms are excellent, clean, and well-maintained. Hostel food is bad. Although from 2017 educational year onwards they are outsourcing their food tender to an outside private agency and let's hope it works. Infrastructure related issues were not present during my period 2013-2017.
Faculty: The faculty of safety engineering branch was very supportive of the students. They were easy to communicate to and were easy to understand. There was a strong bond between the teachers and the students. But I cannot say the same for other departments. Departments like EEE, IT, CS, are all filled with faculty members who are well-qualified but are not approachable. They do not share that relation with the students like in safety. The faculty of mechanical department is also great.

Absolutey satisfied with the teaching & non-teaching faculty and the hostel is really good.
Placements: Placements were really good for my seniors almost 90% of them got placed in reputed companies like HPCL NOC. Their highest salary is approximately 2 lakhs INR/month and lowest is 70,000 INR/month. Many reputed companies visited the college like HPCL, NOC, IOC, Reliance etc. The college also provides placement training for students. 80% students got internship from the college. They got up to INR 7000/month maximum and INR 5000/month minimum.
Infrastructure: There are many facilities provided by the college such as wi-fi campus, all types of labs for every branches, a/c classrooms, lecture halls, ambulance, 2 canteens, medical facility in 2 blocks, library with updated books every month, playground, basketball court, hostel for girls and boys separately. The quality of labs and classrooms is above par. The quality of food available in the canteen is really good. Hostel rooms are very well maintained and are cleans almost everyday.
Faculty: They have got a good team of faculty with a mixture of young and experienced. 50% of them are aged above 60 and have got vast experience. The remaining are energetic youthful faculty. They all are really good with teaching methods and doubt clearing. Of course, they are well qualified and experienced. They use powerpoint presentations to make you very clear about the topic. Student-faculty ratio would be 50:1 We we got industry exposure. The course curriculum was okay but not so perfect.

Teachers are good. They help us to clear the problem.
Placements: A student with an average mark can enter the college. 3-10 LPA is the package offered by the college in this course. Top recruiters are L&T, Reliance, and Tata. Most of the students got an internship with the help of the campus. Safety manager and safety engineer are the best posts for the fire and safety engineers, and there are better-paying jobs for other departments. Robotics has a bright future in the modern era.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available almost every block, but there is a poor network connection. Full facility available at the lab, digitalised classrooms, and library facility available for depth-wise. The hostel contains Wi-Fi and food. The hostel is okay. Canteen food has been raised to 70 rupees for diriyani and 50 rupees for normal meals. A medical facility is available for both the college and the hostel. Sports competitions are conducted in the college, and there is a college team for almost everything.
Faculty: Teachers are helping to clear your problem. The quality of teachers is appreciable. This course contains industrial experience that makes students industry-ready. Ready Sem exam questions are made under the KTU (Abdul Kallam Technical University). The pass percentage of last year's batch of fire and safety is 99.98 percent. The faculty are highly qualified.
Other: The course contains a lot of opportunities compared to other courses, and the chance of getting a job is really high. The 1 year contains the same for all courses. There are so many fest opportunities in college that you can attend. Scholarship programmes are also conducted in college.
