Fire and Safety Engineering Course FAQs
You can refer to this section for some frequently asked questions around Fire Safety Engineering courses.
A Fire Protection Engineer is responsible for conducting investigations and making sure workplaces are safe from fire hazards and are up to fire code. A Fire Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring and maintaining fire safety for a company. Therefore these two job profiles are the most important profiles in any institution who are responsible for protection against fire accidents.
Know more about -
Fire Safety engineering requires more practical knowledge. Candidates can acquire the same through industrial training and visits. Students get the knowledge of the design and layout of equipment, processes and supporting systems along with fire prevention, control, suppression, and extinguishment. These skills are difficult to acquire which makes this course very tough.
There is no such strict upper age limit for pursuing the BTech Fire Safety Engineering course at reputed colleges and universities in India. However, most of the academic institutions want the candidates to be at least 16 years of age at the time of taking admission to BTech in Fire Safety Engineering.
Some universities may have other specific age requirements for admission, for which you should check the university websites for more information and better clarity because their admission guidelines may get revised as per the new academic session.
GATE qualifying cutoff is institute eligibility cutoff, and on other hand, GATE admission cutoff ensures a call for admission at IITs, NITs, IITs, and CFTIs. Check below in detail:
GATE Qualifying Cutoff: It is minimum mark a candidate must score so that he or she is eligible for admission. But this does not mean that a candidate is selected for admission. Actually, it is fixed before announcement of GATE results. It is announced by conducting IIT and available on GOAPS. It includes qualifying marks for each paper.
Admission GATE Cutoffs: It is final opening and closing rank score fixed by participating institutes for selection of candidates. It is to be noted here that meeting admission GATE cutoff does not mean that candidates will be selected for admission. It is fixed after GATE result date. It is declared by individual participating institutes and available on their respective counselling portals (CCMT/ COAP).
