One of the better colleges for M.Sc. Psychology in Kerala.
Placements: I studied M.Sc. Psychology at Union Christian College, Kerala, and management quote. The semester fee for students was around Rs. 8500. For our course, there was no specific recruiter, so we had to find jobs ourselves. Students in electronics and other science-related subjects usually get placements easily.
Infrastructure: Although the classrooms did not have Wi-Fi or smart classroom facilities, the overall quality of the classrooms was good. They have everything, a library, a big playground, a cinema hall, and all the facilities you need. The hostel is good, well-cleaned, and the food is also better. They have a huge reputation in sports. All kinds of sports are available to play, and there are different coaches.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. Their teaching style is excellent. They provide all the necessary knowledge and experience for the future. The semesters are not very difficult; the level is average, with a pass rate of around 70%. The pass rate is quite important.

Overall, it is the best college for the M.Sc. in Psychology course.
Placements: 95% of students found jobs, with an average income of 14 LPA. The highest package is around 30 LPA, while the lowest is around 5 LPA. The Marriage Fit, Caring Minds, and Abhasa Rehab & Wellness are the top recruiters. 90% of students secured internships. Therapist, research assistant, and other positions are offered.
Infrastructure: My department offers various features, including ultra-fast Wi-Fi capabilities. Laboratories are excellent, classrooms are nice, and all are equipped with air conditioning. The hotel amenities are impressive, and the cuisine surpasses that of any other hotel I've encountered. The clinic operates around the clock, and various types of games are available to play.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful to students, and all are very qualified. Although most students study for exams in the last few days, the syllabus has interesting topics. If only a few people and almost everyone passed. Exam difficulty depends on the professor, though many are intermediate. The cutoff percentage is more than 83%.

I loved the people and events, but Psychology needs a stronger practical base.
Placements: I am a part of the B.Sc. Psychology batch (2021-2024). Sadly, there are no official placement drives for psychology students. The placement cell mainly focused on Commerce and Management departments, where students receive better opportunities. For us, securing internships or entry-level roles is completely dependent on personal effort, though our professors give us a few suggestions. Around 30-40% of students managed to get internships at hospitals, clinics, or NGOs, but none of them are arranged directly by our college.
Infrastructure: Our department has a decent infrastructure. Classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated, with projectors in some classrooms. The library is well-stocked with psychology textbooks and journals. We have access to a well-arranged and functional lab for practicals. Wi-Fi is available, but not always reliable. I did not stay in the hostel, so I cannot comment on the hostel facilities. However, the campus canteen offered basic food, but they serve tasty snacks and meals at reasonable prices. Sports facilities are available, though limited. There are college nurses for minor medical issues.
Faculty: Honesty, it is a mixed bag. Some teachers are extremely passionate, knowledgeable, and supportive. We could see that they wanted us to learn. But a few are going through motions, which is frustrating at times. The course curriculum itself is solid, covering all the core areas like abnormal, social, organizational, and developmental psychology, but at the same time, it felt too theory-based and outdated. I wish there were more focus on practical application and real-world exposure. Exams are not that hard if we study regularly. I wish we could become industry-ready and not just exam-ready.
Other: The one thing I will never forget is the vibe of UCC, calm, green, and filled with memories. I chose psychology out of a deep passion for understanding people and healing, and though the academic system has its flaws. The campus life more than made up for it. In my first year itself, I founded the official fashion club of UC College, which became a creative space for a lot of fashion enthusiasts to express themselves. I also served as a percussionist for the college's arts club, Swaralaya. Being part of the cultural scene, whether it was Union Day, student political party-based events, or Kalolsavam and arts day, felt like home for any artist. One of the highlights during my second year was Centennial Vista (100 years of UCC), an unforgettable event full of nostalgia, pride, and legacy. The crowd is mostly rounded and supportive, though at times conservative. But if we find our tribe, we will thrive. Connectivity-wise, the college is reachable via auto, bus, or even via metro till Aluva. Surroundings are peaceful and ideal for college, and tucked into nature.

Overall best college for M.Sc. in psychology course.
Placements: Last year in my college, 87% of the students got placed in our course. The average salary is between 15 LPA and 27 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Minhance Wellness, Haier, MRF, etc. More than 70% received internships in top companies. The roles offered are clinical psychologist, therapist, and more.
Infrastructure: The information represented here is sufficient, but not much. However, for the price we paid, there was no Wi-Fi for students. It’s only for offices and employees, and that’s a problem. Hotel facilities are above average, and we can’t expect better for this money. The food served in the restaurant is reasonable, good, and clean.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and supportive. They are geared to help students do a good job. There are many extracurricular activities, and teachers will help students to actively participate in the activities. It’s a great place to build a positive personality and other skills. Semester exams are not easy, and the passing percentage is around 65%.

My exceptional college life.
Placements: I studied MSc. Psychology at Union Christian College, Aluva in Kerala. In my class, there were a total of 19 students, all of them girls. The students were from both merit and management quotas. The semester fee for the course was about 9000 rupees for general category students. For our course, there were no particular recruiters, as we had to find jobs on our own. Students from electronics and other science-related subjects usually get placements easily.
Infrastructure: Though the classrooms were not Wi-Fi enabled or smart classrooms, the overall quality of the classrooms is good. Tiles were paved in every classroom, and they were kept clean every day. Our college has a library with a numerous number of books in each and every genre. There are special rooms for girls and boys for reference. The books can be taken home for a period of 14 days and can be returned or renewed later. I was a day scholar, but my hostel friends shared their experiences at the hostel. The hostel provides clean and safe food to the students. Each room accommodates 2-4 students. The college gives much importance to sports and related activities and conducts an annual sports meet every year.
Faculty: Our department has the best-qualified teachers who are committed to their work. Any student can approach them at any time to clarify their doubts. Without any hesitation, the teachers usually help the students. The course has a well-structured syllabus, most of which was prepared by our own teachers for the entire university. After completing the postgraduate course, students can either go for a job or pursue higher education. For an average student, the syllabus is not difficult to pass; it all depends on the ability and hard work that a student puts into it.
Other: I chose this course because I was very keen to understand the different aspects of human behavior. The best thing about the course is that it covers all the theoretical aspects regarding psychology. Still, the course must incorporate practical experience in its syllabus. Though the college is known for its academics, it is not lacking in extracurricular activities. Every year, the college conducts several programs, including arts day, sports day, and college day. Renowned celebrities are welcomed to our college to inaugurate these programs. Several students also participate in each program and showcase their abilities.
