The college has the highest placement records.

Placements: As we have very good placements records in our college, the highest package offered by recruiters is around 12 Lacs per annum with an average package of 4.5 per annum and the lowest package offered is 3 Lacs per annum. Students with no arrears and the highest CGPA prefer placements.

Infrastructure: Our college is a famous engineering college in Madurai. It provides all the facilities within the campus itself. The laboratories are highly equipped and well maintained having air conditioners. All the medical facilities are available within our campus.

Faculty: Clearing the semester examinations is a little bit difficult, we need to study harder to crack the semesters. In addition to the placement activities, our college results in producing good academic results with higher percentage. It may result in producing rank holders every year.

Placements: Placements are good in our college. Many companies visit our campus for placements. The highest salary package offered is 3.7 LPA. The average salary offered is Rs. 20,000 per month. The lowest salary offered is Rs.16,000 per month. If students are good in academics, our college will allow them to do internships. From the 7th semester, students with and above 7.5 CGPA and no arrears are eligible for placements. Many students got placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, Zoho, and Amazon.

Infrastructure: The hostel provides facilities like well-sophisticated rooms, heaters, generators, fans, lights, and separate cots. Restrooms are clean. The hostel rooms are clean every day. The food is very good and hygienic. Laboratories are good.

Faculty: The management team makes a lot of effort to provide the best faculty members for us with high qualifications and experiences. Faculty members are good. Their teaching methods are good. They conduct unit tests to prepare for university exams. The faulty-student ratio is good.

Other: I opted for this college because of the college website and the suggestions of seniors. Our college conducts many extracurricular activities and organises workshops and programs for students' welfare. Our college admissions are based on the cut-off marks obtained in the 12th standard. More than 180 marks will be good enough to get admission to our college. Our college provides many club activities such as NCC, etc.

Well-rounded campus life with strong placements but room for curriculum upgrades.

Placements: Top roles offered are software engineer, data scientist, cloud engineer, machine learning specialist, cybersecurity analyst, product manager, etc. In computer science batch 2024, 92% of students are placed. The highest package is 47 lpa (offered by Amazon), the lowest package is 5 lpa, and the average package is 18 lpa. Top recruiting companies are Accenture, Amazon, Feet Studio, Infosys, TCS, and Zoho.

Infrastructure: The CSE Department has 4 computer labs with Wi-Fi connections and a separate library section. The quality of the facility was superb, and the food is good in the mess and canteen. We have a small medical building in case of any emergency situation. Also, they support sports and games.

Faculty: The teachers were highly qualified, holding advanced degrees like PhDs and industry certification. They were helpful and approachable, providing extra sessions and guidance for projects and career counseling. The teaching quality was above average, with a good mix of theoretical knowledge and practical applications. The semester exams were moderately difficult, focusing on both theoretical concepts and practical problem-solving. Students who attended classes and engaged with assignments found them manageable. Around 85% is the significant percentage scoring distinctions.

Other: I chose this course because I've always been passionate about technology and problem-solving. It aligned with my interest in coding, innovation, and exploring new technologies like AI and machine learning. The hands-on projects and internships gave me real-world experience. More Industry Exposure: I wish there were more company collaborations and live projects integrated into the coursework.

I am absolutely dissatisfied because of the infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: More than 80% of students were placed. The average salary package was 3.25 LPA. The lowest package was 2 LPA and the highest package was 6 LPA. CTS, Wipro, TCS, Atos Global, and Zoho are some of the major recruiters. Associate engineer and software developer are some of the major roles offered for this course.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are decent, but the library is not good. There is no Wi-Fi facility available on the campus. The entire campus is very small. The food quality is below average in both the canteen and the hostel mess. The infrastructure of the hostel is also below average.

Faculty: Teachers are trained to make us pass by conducting repeated tests and exams. Everything is mark-oriented and it's not about gaining knowledge or getting industry-ready. We can pass and get our degree easily with their training. Teaching could have been more practical and, rather than scoring marks, it should have been gathered knowledge.

Other: There are no extracurricular activities.

Review of Velammal College of Engineering and Technology.

Placements: In our computer science department, there are 120 students in the 2015-2019 batch. Around 70 students got placed in campus placements. The top recruiting company for our course is Zoho. Only a few students of about 10% got placed in internships in KAAR Technologies. Top roles offered are system engineer, software developer, full-stack developer, etc.

Infrastructure: Classrooms in our college are vast and ventilated. There are be six fans and six lights in each class. We have 3 computer labs for UG and one computer lab for PG. We also have a server room which has a internet and other server controls for all the labs. There is the availability of a library in our college which has all the books and journals we need. There is no Wi-Fi connectivity in our college. Facilities provided in the hostels are good. Rooms are highly ventilated and clean. The food served is tasty and a little bit low but the quality is good. There is one dispensary near our hostel where we can avail of medical facilities for minor diseases. If it is major there is a hospital owned by our college which is reachable by 5 minutes from our hostel. The sports and games available are basketball, cricket, kabaddi, badminton, kho-kho, etc.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very much helpful in our studies and clearing all the doubts we have. All the staff members in our department are Ph.D. holders. Some of them are M.E holders but they are also good at teaching. The teaching quality was good enough, but they have to improve a little better. The course curriculum is relevant to IT companies and our college makes students industry-ready.

Other: I chose this course because I have a great craze for IT companies. Especially I want to get placed in ZOHO. The best thing about our course is good placements. The salary packages offered are 3.6 LPA. There are some M.E holders in our course. Better they can be replaced by Ph.D. holders so that we can learn much better. There is also a symposium (Technical Event) on behalf of all the departments, and there will a cultural fest every year. The is no Wi-Fi connectivity in our college for students but the internet is available in our computer labs. Our campus is very small and behind our college building, there is a basketball court, cricket ground, tennis court, kabaddi ground, etc. Minority scholarships are offered by the college offered by the central government of India and also the first graduate scholarship which is provided by the Government of Tamilnadu. We also have extracurricular activities like NSS, Red Cross, etc.
