M.Sc.	Candidates who are Graduate with Mathematics as an elective subject and Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications / PG Diploma in Information Tech. / PG Diploma in E-Commerce and Internet Application or equivalent with 50% marks in the aggregate are also eligible to apply.
MCA	Candidates completed B.Sc. (NM/ Economics) with the mentioned marks in aggregate or any equivalent degree thereto OR Graduate in any stream with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Application/ IT/ Computer Maintenance/ Quantitative Techniques as one of the elective subjects with the mentioned marks in aggregate or any equivalent degree thereto OR Bachelor's degree in any stream with the mentioned marks in aggregate with Mathematics as an elective subject at +2 levels are also eligible to apply.
UG Diploma	Candidates passing class 10+2/equivalent in any stream with the mentioned marks or more in aggregate are eligible.
PGDCA	Candidates passing their graduation in any stream with the mentioned marks or more from a recognised Institute/University are eligible.
Certificate	Candidate must have completed graduation from a recognised university.
PG Diploma	Candidates passing their Graduation in any stream with the mentioned marks or more in aggregate from a recognised Institute/University are eligible.

Candidates must visit the official website of the College and apply for candidature by filling out the application form. Furthermore, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria by securing minimum aggregate in Class 12 for UG level admissions, and graduation for PG level admissions. After applying for candidature, candidates will be shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria provided. For final admission, candidates must pay the fees and confirm the seat.

All the CUCET-based scholarships awarded to CU students are valid for the first year only. To renew them for the further years, students should apply for renewal every year. The eligibility criteria for scholarship renewal is mentioned below:

• Performance: 7.5 CGPA at the end of each year
• College students must not indulge in any indiscipline activity
• Students should not have E, F or I in any of the subject in any year

For other merit-based scholarships offered by CU on the basis of JEE Main/ CAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ Class 12 & graduation scores, renewal of scholarship will only be possible if students maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5 in the semester exams. However, for PharmaD course, it is mandatory that the students don't have any semester/year break in between.

Honestly, Thapar is a good private engineering college, but it does come at a cost.

For B.Tech, the total expense for 4 years (including tuition + hostel) usually goes around ₹28–35 lakhs, depending on your branch and accommodation. It's on the higher side compared to many colleges, so budgeting is important.

As for faculty, most professors are qualified (many with PhDs), and academics are taken seriously. Teaching quality is generally considered good, especially in core branches like CSE, ECE, and Mechanical. Like any big university, experiences can vary by department and individual professor.

If fees aren't a major constraint and you get a good branch, Thapar is considered a solid option.

• The IIT Ropar Department of Science of Technology (DST) has established Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) in the application domain of Agriculture & Water, named Agriculture & Water Technology Development Hub (AWaDH)
•  IIT Ropar recently launched Annam.ai. It has set up 100 advanced weather stations in Punjab. This will help the state to develop the scalable weather intelligence network for India. The Annam.ai is India's first fully integrated agricultural intelligence ecosystem, which uses AI & IoT.
