NIFT has a lot of potentials to be the best, but it still requires improvement.

Placements: Placements weren't great in 2016. Very few students from our class got a job through campus placements, and even I was one of those because of the specialised field I have pursued. Companies that visited our college weren't great, and NIFT is well known for providing good jobs. The college-level is degrading, and they are unable to invite good companies for placements.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was great though it was a very small campus but loved the building. I wish there were ground to play different sports. Computer labs and other classrooms were also good enough though seats were horrible as a lot of students fell and got injured. Wi-Fi was available, but the major issues were the horrible network in rooms, and we had to sit in the corridor late nights to finish our work.

Faculty: Faculty members were amazing, friendly and helpful. Sometimes there was a lot of pressure on the students. There are some subjects which were highly unnecessary which are not even used in the industry. Now I am studying in the US. Teaching methods can be changed in a more casual way to keep students more relaxed and not pressure them so much. They should include more internships to get more exposure and college should have collaborations with brands to work on real-life projects.

Other: The college fest was fun as I have always participated in many events, but there was a lot of internal politics. Campus crowd is also degrading with time. The reputation of the college isn't good anymore. The location of the college was not at all safe.

Applicants with the following qualifications are also eligible to apply.1) General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).2) A 3 or 4 years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education after secondary examination /10th standard.

Entrance Test
Eligible candidates need to appear for the written test i.e Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) conducted by the college.
Situation Test
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Situation Test based on the score obtained in CAT and GAT.
Counselling
Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in CAT/ GAT or Situation test score and performance in Group Discussion/ Personal Interview. Selection parameters and weightages: CAT: 50% GAT: 30% Situation Test: 20% For candidates belonging to Foreign Nationals / SAARC / NRI category, admission is on the basis of SAT score.
