Mystory@Kishan Kumar: How I chose my course and college
I just passed Standard 10th and it was time for taking the subjects which could help me in my future. I had a little bit of interest in machinery and wanted to be an engineer. It is always said, "It is better to be a good gardener than a bad engineer." Opt for the subject in which you will enjoy. It is not the parents who will make your future. It is you who has to decide as you are the upcoming generation of India.
How I cracked college admission
I took Science and also joined the Prerna coaching classes which was well renowned in our city for bringing out IITians. I joined there with the hope of becoming an IITian. I worked sincerely for 2 years and was very upset with my result as I got just 150 marks in JEE Mains. I did qualify for JEE Advanced but could not do much there. I could not even qualify it. I started filling some state level forms for other colleges as it was better to be on the safe side. Also, I was not in a mood to waste one entire year of my life. Life is same as a clock. "Don't watch the clock; do what it does - keep going."
I also filled a form for IMU (Indian Maritime University). I qualified in it and got a decent rank. Now I finally decided to enroll myself in one of the best colleges for BTech Marine Engineering. After a lot of information that I collected from my relatives I finally came up to the point to join SIMS Lonavala, Maharashtra.
I have completed my first semester. Now I realise that I had taken a great decision. I would like to say to everyone to chase your dreams and work hard for it and do not repent if u fail. A creative man is always respected in society as he is motivated by the desire to achieve and not by the desire to beat others.

You are eligible to join the B.Sc. Nautical Science course in SIMS (Shipping and Marine Studies) only if you meet the academic and physical requirements. Most of the universities or institutes that provide this course require at least 60% in PCM in board exams.
