Projects & Workshops at GLA University

Every engineering student at GLA University has to work on a project starting from the seventh semester.

Projects & workshops play an important role in shaping the future & overall development of the students. Particularly, in today’s time when lakhs of students are graduating every year but very few of them are ready for the corporate world, as they lack some of the basic skills & fundamentals that every graduate should possess to excel in his/her career. Specifically for engineering students, a project is a must and they must give proper attention to it. Every engineering student at GLA University has to work on a project starting from the seventh semester. Students can choose any topic from subject of their choice. But, before starting to work on it, students must consult with their project guide in a detailed manner.

If a project is done seriously, the faculty members may help to get the students a good internship based on the project. The projects are important from the placement point of view too. The recruiters tend to ask questions about project work and if a student is able to demonstrate & explain their queries with clarity, the chances of selection get high.

Workshops at GLA University 

• Recently on April 30, 2022, the Department of Computer Engineering and Applications conducted a workshop on Java Programming. This was a two-hour session where the fundamentals of Java were discussed with reference to android. Also, the participating students were awarded certificates at the end.
• A Guest lecture on 'Sustainability and Competition Law' was also organised in online mode. This was a one-hour session in which the speakers were from the University of Oxford & Supreme Court of India.
• The finance club of the MBA program organised a Panel Discussion on Union Budget to give students an idea of what is in the union budget. 
• Workshop on Teaching Pedagogy: This workshop was organised by the polytechnic department of the university.
• A fruitful workshop on Active Learning through Management Games & Simulation was given by Mr Akhil Iyer, Assistant Director, EY and Mr Vineet Pawar, Markets Manager North East India, CIMA.
• Workshop on Robotics & Industrial Automation: This workshop was organised by the Electrical Engineering department of the university.
• Advance Training Program on Rapid Manufacturing Systems: This workshop was organised by the Mechanical Engineering Department of the university.
