Q:   Can I apply for both JAC Delhi and JoSAA counselling?

Yes. You can. Both counselling has different purpose. JoSAA is for admission to IIT and NIT+ system, while JAC Delhi is for admission to IIIT D, NSUT, DTU, DSEU, and IGDTUW. Admission via both JoSAA and JAC Delhi is based on JEE Main ranks.

Q:   Can I get DTU with 80 percentile in JEE Main via JAC Delhi?

Usually, the cutoff for DTU stays around 90, even for the reserved categories. Therefore, getting into B.Tech courses at DTU is difficult with a JEE Main percentile score of 90 or below. The cutoff also goes high and low every year, depending on the following factors: Number of aspirants registered, The difficulty level of the exam, Total number of seats available, total number of applications received for a particular program, and the category under which admission is sought. Therefore, it is very difficult to predict the exact cutoff and give an exact answer to this question.
Q:   What is the minimum marks requirement in participating colleges of JAC Delhi?

BE/B.Tech Course at DTU, IGDTUW, NSUT, DSEU and Dual Degree (B.Tech+MBA) at IGDTUW: A candidate securing 60% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics Chemistry and Mathematics, and having passed English as a subject of study at the Senior School Certificate Examination Level (Core or Elective) will be considered eligible for admission to the first semester of B.Tech/BE course provided he/she has passed in each subject separately. B.Tech Course at IIIT D: A candidate who has secured 80% or more marks in the aggregate of the best of five subjects including Physics Chemistry & Mathematics and 80% or more in Mathematics in the qualifying examination will be considered eligible.
Q:   What is the purpose of Joint Admission Counselling (JAC)?
A: 

Joint admission counseling (JAC) is conducted for admission to 5 institutes of the Delhi government, including DTU. You can get a seat in the B.E. , B.Tech. , and B.Arch. Courses offered by these institutions. The participating colleges in JAC include:

  1. Delhi Technological University (DTU)
  2. Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)
  3. Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D)
  4. Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU)
  5. Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT)

The whole process is done in five rounds, including spot round admission. There are 85% of seats reserved for candidates from the Delhi region in the JAC.

Q:   When will the JAC Delhi counselling process start?

JAC Delhi 2026 counselling will start in May. The entire counselling schedule is hosted on the official website of JAC Delhi 2026. Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) process for undergraduate admissions in engineering programs in Delhi, is conducted by the participating institutes themselves. The details for JAC Delhi 2026 counselling institute will be announced soon. JAC Delhi is a collaborative effort of four engineering institutes in Delhi, namely Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D), and the Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT, formerly known as NSIT). These institutes collectively conduct the counselling process for admission to their undergraduate engineering programs.

Q:   My AIR is 123676. Can I get admission in IGDTUW?
A: 
If you are from OBC/SC/ST category, then you will definitely get an admission. But with general category, it will be tough as the last cut -off is always around 90k. Even in spot round there will be barely any chance of general category to get an admission with rank above 90k. But with any category certificate you will easily get an admission within first 2-3 rounds.
Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for IIIT Delhi BTech courses?
A: 

Candidates need to be Class 12 pass with minimum 70% aggregate in five subjects including Physics, Maths and Chemistry and 70% in Mathematics in Class 12 from a recognised board to become eligible for the BTech programme. Moreover, the aspirant should have passed the qualifying exam from a recognised board. During the form filling and at the time of admission, candidate must hold the pass certificate for verification purposes.

IGDTUW cutoff is based on JEE Main scores followed by JAC Counselling. JAC Delhi Counselling 2024 schedule is yet to be released by the Joint Admission Committee (JAC). It has been anticipated that JAC Delhi Counselling 2024  Online Registration and Choice Filling should commence in May 2024 and go upto till June 2024. To be conducted in five-six rounds like last year, Round 1 should release in June 2024, while Rounds 2, 3, 4 and 5 in July 2024. Also, JAC Delhi Spot Round (if applicable) should be out in August 2024. Once released, JAC Delhi Counselling 2024 schedule will be updated on this page.
