B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2029

Had a good experience till now.
Placements: Placement here is good. It is one of the main things for which the college is famous. However, this does not mean that students automatically get 20 LPA or higher packages. They need to put in their own efforts and work hard for that. It is better to choose the Tech branch because the college is more focused on it. Placements in Tech are comparatively better here.
Infrastructure: The IT infrastructure is better than others. Still, overall infrastructure is not very strong, and the hostels have a curfew time of 8:30 PM, so students cannot go out of the hostel after 8:30 without permission. The mess food also becomes not very good after some time.
Faculty: Scoring above 8 CGPA is not very difficult, but students have to study on their own. The syllabus is not very vast, but teachers rarely teach in detail. So students need to arrange notes themselves and study one week before mid-sem and two weeks before end-sem exams to score well. Teachers in IT give marks more easily than in CSE.

Strong placement and supportive faculty, but infrastructure needs improvement.
Placements: 90 percent the students from my course get successfully placed every year with top recruiters like Microsoft and Google. The highest package offered is around 50 LPA while the lowest range between 4 LPA to 5 LPA and the average package is 20 LPA. Almost all third-year students are able to secure internships reflecting the strong industry connections of the course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the institute is below average when compared to the top government colleges in India. The library often remains overcrowded making it difficult for students to study comfortably. Classrooms are not fully centralized. In addition, Wi-Fi connectivity is restricted to only a few specific labs, limiting accessibility across the campus. The quality of hostel food also falls short of expectations and requires significant improvement.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. They provide you with notes and assignments to help you with the course. As an IT student, I find the curriculum to be largely relevant, covering important coding and technical subjects that match industry requirements. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, making it fairly easy for students to score well. With many achieving a CGPA of 9 or above.
Other: I chose IT as my course because of my strong interest in technology, problem-solving skills, and coding. While the curriculum is relevant and placement opportunities are strong. There is still room for improvement in areas such as infrastructure, classroom facilities, hostel food quality, and campus-wide internet connectivity. College also encourages cultural and extracurricular engagement. Tarangana being one of the most vibrant and well-organized fests. Additionally, scholarships are available for students from EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder talented students from pursuing their education.

Placement and academics-wise, it's really good.
Placements: The B.Tech IT branch at IGDTUW had around 84.5% placement in 2024. The highest package was 52.89 LPA, and the average was 20.99 LPA. Top recruiters include Microsoft, JP Morgan, Adobe, Cisco, and BNY Mellon. About 330 students secure internships, many leading to PPOs. Roles offered are mainly in software development, backend, data analysis, and cloud.
Infrastructure: Although we have labs for everything and they are well-equipped, some systems don’t work properly. Some classes don’t have AC, but it’s quite manageable. The library is good, and Wi-Fi is available. We don’t have a proper canteen. It’s shared, and the food is average. There are some small canteens, and again, the food is average.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They teach well. Some professors are very helpful. They help with research papers and more. They are also easily reachable. I feel our course is very relevant and everything we need to know for good placements. The level of exams is average. They are not too easy, not too tough. Maintaining a GPA above 8 is manageable.
Other: So it is very relevant and has good placements. IGDTUW has a good alumni network, and students get placed in good companies like Microsoft, Adobe, etc. Seniors are also very helpful, providing great exposure to everything. There are many scholarships offered by the college and other sources as well. Events are quite fun, and we have good fests.

Above-par college life with a lot of exposure.
Placements: Placements are the highlight of IGDTUW. It provides good placements even in lower branches like Mechanical Engineering. The placement percentage is very consistent throughout. Big companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Uber also come for hiring.
Infrastructure: Facilities are not that good. The Wi-Fi doesn't work in most areas. The library is very small, and the canteen facilities are not at par. There is a lot of space for sports and game activities. The classrooms have old benches, and there is no AC in the first-year classrooms.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, others not so much. The college provides very qualified professors. The course curriculum is very relevant and helps with the placement drive. The semester exams are very easy, but even semesters end in just 4 months, so the exams come quickly.

Amazing placements but with no college life.
Placements: Almost 1 out of 4 students in our college are placed in one of the top companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. The highest placement offered last year was 1 crore. Almost 90% of students had good paying internships. No doubt, this college provides great opportunities.
Infrastructure: The hostel infrastructure is not that good. Mess food is a complete disaster, whereas, coming to the campus, it's quite a small campus. Infrastructure is also okay, but not that good. They do not have AC in every classroom, only in a few selective classes, and when it comes to desks, they are mostly broken in a few classes.
Faculty: Some teachers are indeed very helpful. It's like for some subjects, they assign you the teacher who is doing a Ph.D. from the college itself. Some teachers do have great knowledge and experience, but some are just newcomers. Coming to semester exams, personally, I would say they are not that tough, seriously.
Other: B.Tech in IT is one of the best courses. Coming to events and fests, this year no event or fest was there, all were canceled. Coming to connectivity, there is a great social circle.

Placement ,hostels, and fest of IGDTUw
Placements: Top recruiting companies are Google , Microsoft, Goldman Sachs , and De Shaw for roles of data analyst and software engineer. Almost 90 percent of students are placed every year, with an average package of 20 lakh and a highest of 1.2 crore for this year and a lowest of 7 lakh .
Infrastructure: The total area of the college is small compared to other colleges. There are not great grounds for sports and all. Hostels are good. Labs are quite great for practical knowledge. For medical facilities, there is only one medical room. There is no great canteen in the college .
Faculty: The teachers are great, but coming to academics, the checking of papers and all is very strict. The curriculum is quite old-fashioned types. Semester exams are of moderate level, and the passing percentage is 45 percent. Taking midsems or minor exams seriously matters a lot .
Other: We have three annual fests: Technical fest technical fest -innerve cultural fest - taranganna sports fest - Synergy There are various scholarships available on the college website .extra co circullars are quite limited. The best thing about this college is its placement .

Recession Proof College for-B.Tech.
Placements: Placements are 100% even in times of recession. The placement cell is very cooperative; they take care that all of the students get placed. The highest package goes to 84 lpa in the country 1.4 vr outside the country. The top companies are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Oracle, Deshaw, and many more.
Infrastructure: In many societies, like singing, dancing, managing, drama, sports, teaching, and many more, you can outshine yourself. Some classrooms have AC and some don't, but all the labs and libraries are AC-centralized. The canteen and nescafe are there, and the food quality is quite decent.
Faculty: All the teachers are Ph.D. professors and have very good knowledge and teaching skills. The course curriculum is apt for engineering, and the college environment makes one industry ready. Semester exams are easy if one takes class with full dedication. The minimum passing mark is 45/100.
Other: I chose artificial intelligence and machine learning because it is a trend and an upcoming future. Also, subjects get my interest. Events and festivals are too good. Extracurriculars are best if one wants to know herself best.

Inside insights from IGDTUW: You will not regret after 4 years for sure.
Placements: The placement scenario in IGDTUW is what makes it worthy. With each passing year, the upcoming batch is performing much better than the previous batch. Placement percentage is about 80–85 percent and is almost full in CSE and IT branches, mainly computer-related branches. The average package is around 18–20 LPA and our college attracts numerous companies like Google, Microsoft, MotorQ, Intuit, and Uber, to name a few.
Infrastructure: We do not have that advanced infrastructure when compared to other colleges like DTU, NSUT, and IIITD. But the good thing is that it's getting better day by day and it's a very new college as compared to DTU and NSUT. So definitely, there is a difference in the campus size and infrastructure. The facilities here are slightly above average.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are really helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good as long as you are concerned about your studies. Of course, you will study one day before exam and that's the truth. If you want the help of a teacher, they are always ready to help. The course is a bit relevant and is basically the same as what other colleges offer.
Other: Placement was the main thing that attracted me here and many other students from Delhi and outside Delhi too. If the course upgrades more in technology, it would be much more relevant, which is what I personally feel should be done. Taarangana is the annual fest of IGDTUW and is really appreciated by other colleges too.
