JAC Delhi 2023 Counselling: The Joint Admission Committee has started JAC Delhi counselling registration 2023 a day early. The registrations were to start on May 25, however, the registration portal is now open on the JAC Delhi 2023 official website. The last date to apply is June 25. The registration fee is INR 1500. Complete details of JAC Delhi 2023 and the information brochure have been uploaded on the official website, jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in, and are also given on this page.

The JAC Delhi counselling is held for admission to 5 institutes that are DTU, IGDTUW, DSEU, IIIT-D and NSUT.  Admissions via JAC Delhi 2023 will be done based on JEE Main 2023 ranks. As per last year, 6502 seats in engineering and 92 seats in BArch are up for grabs via JAC Delhi counselling. JAC Delhi Counselling 2023 is conducted in 4 rounds and one spot round. The counselling process in each round includes registrations, choice filling, seat allotment, payment of the seat acceptance fee and physical reporting at the respective institute. What is JAC Delhi Admissions?

Joint Admission Counseling Delhi conducts JAC Delhi counselling for admission to BE/BTech and BArch degree programmes offered by 5 technical universities/institutes of the Government of NCT, Delhi. These institutes/universities include Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D), Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT).

The entire counselling process is online. This counselling process is an initiative of the government of NCT of Delhi, to avoid multiple admission counselings and save the candidates and their guardians from the resulting inconvenience because of shifting of students from one institution to the other during the admission process.

JAC Delhi Counselling 2023 Registration Process

The JAC Delhi 2023 counselling process starts with online registration. The registration process is given below:

Step 1: Authentication

  • Candidates have to authenticate themselves using the following details:
    • JEE Main 2023 application number
    • Name as per JEE Main 2023 admit card
    • Date of birth as per JEE Main application
  • Once the above details match successfully, candidates are asked to enter their email id and mobile number. A verification code is sent to the mobile number and thereafter candidates can enter a password of their choice. Candidates have to use the JEE Main application number and password for logging into the JAC Delhi portal whenever needed.

Step 2: Filling if the application form

Once the authentication is done, candidates have to fill in the application form carefully with all details asked.

Step 3: Upload the scanned documents

Candidates have to upload the scanned documents in the online application form. The scanned documents must be as per the format indicated in the online form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee.

Candidates have to pay the counselling cum application fee. The mode of application fee payment is credit card/debit card/net banking.

Step 5: Printout of the form

Candidates have to take the printout of the filled-in application form. This printout is to be submitted to the reporting institute.

JAC Delhi Eligibility Criteria

JAC Delhi 2023 eligibility criteria are given below:

JEE Main 2023 Scores

Candidates must have their name in the CRL of JEE Main 2023.

Eligibility as Per Region

  • Delhi Region Candidates (85% of seats): Aspirants passing the qualifying exam from a recognized School / College / Institute located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi will be considered for the Delhi Region only.
  • Outside Delhi Region Candidates (15% of seats): Aspirants passing the qualifying examination from a recognized School / College /Institute located outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi will be considered for Outside Delhi Region only.

Note: If the centre of examination is located in the N.C.T. of Delhi, the aspirant shall be considered under the Delhi Region and if the centre of examination is located outside N.C.T. of Delhi, he/she shall be considered under the Outside Delhi Region.

Eligibility as per Qualifying Examination

Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination from nay one of the following boards:

  • Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
  • Indian School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
  • Any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination of CBSE.

Note: Aspirants who have appeared at the annual exam in the year 2023 and have been placed in the compartment will not be eligible for admission for the year 2023.

Minimum Marks Required for JAC Delhi Admission 2023

The following minimum marks requirements in the qualifying exam are prescribed. Check institute-wise minimum marks requirements below:

BE/BTech Course at DTU, IGDTUW, NSUT, DSEU and Dual Degree (BTech+MBA) at IGDTUW

A candidate securing 60% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and having passed English as a subject of study at the Senior School Certificate Examination Level (Core or Elective) will be considered eligible for admission to the first semester of BTech/BE course provided he/she has passed in each subject separately.
BTech Course at IIIT D

A candidate who has secured 80% or more marks in the aggregate of the best of five subjects including Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 80% or more in Mathematics in the qualifying examination will be considered eligible.

BArch Course at IGDTUW and NSUT

A candidate will be considered eligible for admission to the First Year of the BArch Course if she has secured 50% or more marks in aggregate, has passed Mathematics as a subject in the Senior School Certificate Level Examination and also qualifies for the JEE (Main) Paper-2 exam.

Relaxation in Minimum Marks Criteria for Reserved Category / Sub-Category Candidates

Aspirants belonging to various reserved categories namely OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and sub-categories namely Defence, Differently Abled Person, who apply for seats reserved for them, shall be allowed a concession in the minimum marks criteria as mentioned below:

For DTU, IGDTUW, NSUT and DSEU only:

  • Other Backward Class (OBC-NCL): 55%
  • Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): 50%
  • Defence (CW): 55%
  • Differently Abled Person (PD): 50%

For IIIT-D only:

  • Other Backward Class (OBC-NCL): 65%
  • Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): 60%
  • Defence(CW): 65%
  • Differently Abled Person (PD): 65%

  • Registration - JAC Delhi admission application forms are made available online. Candidates have to register online on the official website.
  • Choice filling - Candidates have to login into the next step and fill in their choices of colleges and courses.
  • Seat allotment results - Candidates are then allotted courses and institutes as per their JEE main 2023 ranks and eligibility criteria. 
  • Seat confirmation, fee payment - After issuance of the seat allotment letter, candidates have to make the fee payment, confirm their seats and can freeze their allotted seat if they do not want any up-gradation of seat/institute as per their filled choices.
  • Document verification -  As per the schedule announced, candidates have to visit the reporting centre for verification of documents after they have paid the seat acceptance fee.
  • Reporting to the allotted institute - After verification, candidates have to report to the allotted institute for final admission.

JAC Delhi 2023 Counselling Choice Filling Process

After successful registrations, candidates have to fill out the choices online. The choice-filling process includes the selection of preferred courses and institutes. As per the eligibility of the candidates, the available seats are displayed on the screen. Candidates need to select the choices as per their preference. 

  • Once the choices are filled, the list of selected seats is displayed to the candidates. Candidates can move a choice up and down if needed.
  • Candidates are advised to fill in a maximum number of choices.

JAC Delhi 2023 Seat Allotment and Confirmation

Once the seat is allotted candidates are issued a provisional seat allotment letter. This letter will have the institute and category/subcategory allotted to the candidate. Candidates must download the provisional seat allotment letter. After the issuance of provisional allotment candidates have to follow the below process:

  1. Pay the seat acceptance fee: Candidates have to pay the seat acceptance fee if they are happy with the allotted seats.
  2. Admission confirmation status: After payment of the fee candidates have to report for document verification. The admission status will be then updated on the website under the respective logins of the candidates.
  3. Downloading of the provisional admission letter: Once the admission committee confirms the admission, the candidates can download the issued provisional admission letter from their respective logins on the official website.

If the allotted seat is not as per the liking of the candidates, then what?

If the allotted seat in JAC Delhi 2023 counselling process is not as per the liking of the candidate, then they can:

Opt for branch upgradation: The candidate who opts for branch upgradation will be automatically upgraded to the higher preferred choice. However, the upgradation will depend on seats available, eligibility, and JEE Main rank of the candidate. The upgradation process will take place in the next subsequent round.

JAC Delhi Counselling 2023 Reporting for Document Verification

Candidates who are issued the provisional seat allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee have to then report to the reporting centre with all documents for verification. The reporting schedule is announced on the official website and candidates have to follow the same.

Joint Admission Counseling (JAC) Delhi releases institute-wise JAC Delhi cutoffs in online mode. The authority releases the JAC Delhi cutoff along with seat allotment results. Interested candidates can check the round-wise JAC Delhi 2023 opening and closing ranks for IIIT D, NSUT, STU, DSEU, and IGDTUW. Spot Round JAC Delhi 2023 cut-off (opening and closing rank) releases a day after the seat allotment results. However, the upgradation will depend on seats available, eligibility, and JEE Main rank of the candidate. The upgradation process will take place in the next subsequent round. Internal sliding is only applicable to those candidates who have secured admission in the first round of JAC Delhi counselling and have taken admission to a college. Such candidates can apply for internal sliding in the subsequent rounds of counselling. The eligibility criteria and the process for internal sliding may differ from college to college, and candidates are advised to refer to the respective college's website or counselling brochure for detailed information on the same. Generally, candidates need to have secured a minimum required CGPA or percentage of marks in their current programme to be eligible for internal sliding. Additionally, the availability of seats in the desired branch and the candidate's merit rank are also taken into consideration while granting internal sliding.
