Q:   Is there any internal sliding in JAC-Delhi?

A:
Internal sliding in JAC Delhi refers to the process through which a student who has already been admitted to a particular programme at one of the participating colleges of JAC Delhi can apply for a change of branch within the same college or institute. In JAC Delhi Counselling, candidates can move a choice up and down if needed. The candidate who opts for branch upgradation will be automatically upgraded to the higher preferred choice. However, the upgradation will depend on seats available, eligibility, and JEE Main rank of the candidate. The upgradation process will take place in the next subsequent round. Internal sliding is only applicable to those candidates who have secured admission in the first round of JAC Delhi counselling and have taken admission to a college. Such candidates can apply for internal sliding in the subsequent rounds of counselling. The eligibility criteria and the process for internal sliding may differ from college to college, and candidates are advised to refer to the respective college's website or counselling brochure for detailed information on the same. Generally, candidates need to have secured a minimum required CGPA or percentage of marks in their current programme to be eligible for internal sliding. Additionally, the availability of seats in the desired branch and the candidate's merit rank are also taken into consideration while granting internal sliding.

Q:   Can I change my choice after the third round of the JAC in Delhi?

A:
You can modify your preference if you haven't locked it. In the JAC counseling process, there are four regular counseling rounds and one spot round. The students have the option to change their preferences in each round in accordance with the rules. When the JAC releases the counseling schedule, you'll have a chance to change or revise your college and branch choices. You can save your seat preference, and if needed, you can change it until the last date. Once you are sure of your preference, you can "lock" your choice. Based on this locked choice, JAC will allot you a college and branch for the B.Tech course.

Q:   What is the process for spot rounds in JAC Delhi?

A:

The joint admission counseling (JAC) is conducted for admission to the B.Tech course in participating Delhi colleges. The spot round is the final round of counseling in the JAC. The process for spot counseling is as follows:

  • Only previously registered applicants who have not completed any choices, did not report to allotted colleges, or whose seat has been cancelled for any reason are eligible to participate.
  • Following the publication of the vacancy, the JAC will announce the location of the spot round.
  • The candidates have the option to accept any available seat by paying the seat acceptance fee of INR 95,000 as DD.
  • Once a candidate accepts a seat, they are marked frozen, and no branch upgrade is permitted later.
  • There is no refund for seat cancellation, and the fee must be submitted immediately as a DD to get admission confirmation.

Q:   Is it possible to edit choices after the second round in JAC Delhi?

A:
According to the directions given by JAC for choice filling, you can edit your choices within the given time limit. The JAC announce the schedule for the counseling process, which included dates for choice filling and editing preferences. You can edit your choices only within this allotted time limit. Furthermore, you can only edit your selection if it has not been locked. Once you select the "locked choice" option, you cannot make any changes later on in any round. Therefore, if you are not sure about a choice, you can "save" it instead of locking it. Once you are sure about your choice, you can "lock" within the given time limit.
