Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala), or Examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biotechnology/ Biology with atleast 45% (40% marks for SC/ST/ SEBC and those included in the PD quota) marks put together in the above subjects. Result awaited students can also apply on provisional basis. Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2022.

Admission criteria to National Institute of Technology Calicut is primarily entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes. To get into UG programmes, the eligibility criteria is the minimum aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent, along with entrance exams. However, the eligibility criteria to get into PG programmes is graduation in any discipline (this may vary from course to course), along with entrance exams.
