CUSAT DAT 2025: Check exam dates, application form, eligibility, pattern, syllabus, results, and more

CUSAT DAT is the Cochin University of Science and Technology, Departmental Admission Test. It is an entrance test conducted to offer admission to MTech courses in CUSAT. The mode of exam is online consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions. Once the admission/selection through DAT is completed, allotment of vacant seats will be based on the GATE scores.

CUSAT DAT 2025 Highlights

The Cochin University of Science and Technology offers MTech admissions to various specialisations/disciplines. The course duration of MTech (regular) is two years. Here is the list of the CUSAT DAT MTech programs along with the relevant department -

Candidates who want to apply for CUSAT 2025 application form must meet the eligibility criteria as imposed by the university. The CUSAT DAT eligibility includes educational qualification, minumum qualifying mark in graduation, etc. Interested candidates can check the eligibility criteria for CUSAT DAT 2025 below:

• As per educational qualification: Candidates seeking admission to the MTech programme should possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination conducted by a recognised university/institute. 
• As per reservation quota: A candidate belonging to SC/ST community is eligible for concession up to 10% marks for admission provided that he/she has a pass in the qualifying examination. Candidates who possess national/state research fellowship with valid scores, with committed financial assistance at the time of seeking admission, in any of the national/state level eligibility tests conducted by the agencies or by industries so recognized by the University for the purpose, are exempted from appearing the CUSAT DAT 2025.

GATE score will not be considered for the following MTech programmes

• MTech Marine Engineering: The admission will be based on the Rank list prepared by giving due weightage to qualifying degree marks (50%), the Admission Test conducted by the Department (40%), and the number of years of experience after obtaining the degree (weightage is at the rate of 1% per year of experience subject to a maximum of 10%). In the case of Marine Engineers possessing MEO Class II Certificate of Competency 5% weightage and for those possessing MEO Class I Certificate 10% weightage.
• MTech in Marine Bio-Technology: Selection of candidates is done by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on behalf of the Department of Bio-Technology, Government of India through a National Test along with all such examinations conducted by the JNU.  For details visit the JNU website. CUSAT DAT MTech application form released on Feb 6, 2025. The last date to apply was May 31, 2025. Candidates who want to apply for the exam must fill out and submit the application form before the due date. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for completing the CUSAT DAT online form. The application process for the CUSAT DAT comprises various stages, such as registration, filling out the application form, fee payment, uploading of photograph and signature, and final submission. Candidates are advised to provide relevant information; otherwise, their application will be rejected.

• Visit the official website - admissions.cusat.ac.in
• Click on the application form link and select "New Candidate Registration"
• Enter the required details, such as name, email ID, mobile number, etc. 
• Once the registration is complete, fill out the rest of the details, such as personal, educational qualifications, and communication details. 
• Pay the CUSAT DAT application fee.
• Upload the scanned copy of photograph and signature as per the specifications. 
• Check all the details and submit the application form. 
• Keep a copy of the CUSAT DAT online form for future purposes. 

CUSAT DAT admissions are done for MTech courses. Selection of applicants are made based on the academic merit, followed by merit list and counselling process.
