CUSAT admission to Integrated BSc-MSc programme is based on CUSAT CAT score. CUSAT CAT or Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test is a computer-based test conducted for shortlisting aspirants for admission to various courses. With the main building styled in traditional Kerala architecture, the campus houses various Departments & Schools except Marine Sciences, in addition to the administrative office, auxiliary institutions, hostels, guest house, visiting faculty complex, computer centre, central library, staff quarters, playgrounds and other amenities. The fully computerised Central Library is a central source of information for the academic community of the CUSAT. The Computer Center provides free internet access to the students. The campus hosts the buildings of the departments. There are three men's hostels — Siberia, Sarovar and Sanathana — and five women's hostels — Aishwarya, Anashwara, Athulya, Anaga and Ananya. A new B.A tech hostel has been set up. The campus hosts the accommodation of its employees.
Yes, there are hostels exclusively for 1st year students such as Sanathana boys' hostel for first-year post-graduate (PG) first-year students with intake capacity of 162, as well as Aishwarya, which is a girls' only hostel with an intake capacity of 220 students.
The library is open on all working days from 9 am to 8 pm, with issue and return up to 7 pm. On all second Saturdays and Sundays not forming part of public holidays, working hours are fixed as 10 am- 4 pm, with issue and return up to 3 pm. Members shall leave the library 10 minutes before the closing of the library at the second bell.

CUSAT offers M.Tech in full-time and part-time modes. The full-time course is of two-year duration with four semesters and the M.Tech part-time course is of three years with six semesters. The PG-course is available in 16 specialisations. Admission to the M.Tech courses at Cochin University is entrance-based.
The CUSAT KEAM 2025 was released for admission to the BTech programme for various categories under the Home State quota. According to the CUSAT BTech Cutoff 2025, the last round closing cutoff ranged from 10038 to 66316 for the General HS quota. Among all the specialisation, the top two most sough-after specialisations were BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, followed by BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Candidates need to complete Class 12 or equivalent with at least 65% aggregate with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the Subjects to apply for BVoc at Cochin University of Science and Technology. There is a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate for SC/ ST candidates belonging to Kerala. Hence, candidates can apply for BVoc with 65% in Class 12. However, they also need to pass CUSAT CAT for admission to BVoc programme.
Aspirants who have passed BCA/ Bachelor's degree in CS/ BSc/ BCom/ BA/ BVoc Data Analytics with Mathematics with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate to Kerala SC/ ST) are eligible to apply for MCA at Cochin University of Science and Technology. Candidates should have relevant documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission.

The total tuition fee for BTech in CSE at CUSAT is INR 3.61 lakh. CUSAT CAT is used for BTech course admission. The primary requirements for admission to the BTech Computer Science programme are a Class 12 certificate and an overall percentage of 50% in PCM and 50% in Mathematics. While SEBC students from Kerala State (non-creamy layer category) are entitled toa 5% relaxation in qualifying exam scores, the Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) populations simply need pass marks.

The university offers a two-year MCA course in Cost Sharing specialisation. Admission to the PG course is through CUSAT CAT. The seat intake for the course is 78 + 2 Sponsored seats.
