VITREE 2026 admissions: Vellore Institute of Technology has released July PhD application form at admissions.vit.ac.in. The last date to apply is April 6. Candidates who want to apply for PhD or research programmes at VIT campuses must check eligibility and apply before the due date. The VIT has also announced the VITREE exam dates. The exam will be held on April 28 and May 3.
The VITREE PhD test had questions from subject-based questions, English communication skills, probability, and statistics questions. Vellore Institute of Technology mentions eligibility criteria of VITREE January 2026 in the official notification. Criteria for VITREE is different for all course programmes. VITREE January 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- For PhD, candidates must have a master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum qualifying mark of 60% or CGPA of 6.5.
- For Direct PhD, candidates must have an excellent academic record in their bachelor's degree with a minimum qualifying percentage of 75% or CGPA of 7.5
- For PhD Deep Technology Research Chancellor Fellowship, candidates must have an outstanding academic record in either bachelor's or master's degree with a minimum 75% marks or a CGPA OF 8.0

Yes, GATE-qualified candidates can apply for the VITREE exam. For that, candidates must have a good academic record in their bachelor's degree. The minimum qualifying percentage is 75% or an aggregate CGPA of 8.0 on a 10-point scale. Candidates must go through the VITREE criteria before applying.
