CUSAT DAT 2025 Application Form: Check Eligibility, Steps, Fees, Status, and more

For admission to MTech programmes, candidates must meet the following criteria -

• Candidates must have completed a B.Tech degree or equivalent in the relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 (on a 10-point scale or equivalent) or 60% marks without CGPA grading from any recognised university or institution. 
• A valid GATE score in qualifying discipline/branch. 
• Candidates with no GATE qualification will be selected based on their performance in the CUSAT Departmental Admission Test (CUSAT DAT) using the respective discipline or branch syllabus.

Candidates who want to apply for the CUSAT DAT must meet the minimum requirements. Here are the CUSAT DAT 2025 eligibility criteria for M.Tech program admission -

• Candidates who belong to the Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible to apply if they have minimum passing marks in the qualifying examination unless other requirements are mentioned. 
• SEBC candidates of Kerala State who belong to the non-creamy layer are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks. 
• For CUSAT DAT M.Tech admission, candidates with a valid GATE score in the subject are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for the qualifying examination.

The CUSAT DAT 2025 application form is available online on the official website. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out and submit the registration form before May 31, 2025. The application forms can be filled out at -admissions.cusat.ac.in. The step-by-step process to apply for the CUSAT DAT 2025 admission form is as follows-

Step I - Registration

This is the first stage of the CUSAT DAT 2025 application form. Candidates must visit the official website, click “New Candidate Registration”, and provide the required details. After submitting the details, an activation link will be sent to the registered e-mail address provided by the candidate. By clicking on the link, the user account will be activated. The username will be the candidate’s email address. Candidates must ensure that the mobile number and email address used during registration are active throughout the admission process. 

Step II - Filling Out Personal Details

After completing the registration process, candidates must log in using the credentials sent to the registered contact details. After logging in, candidates must provide their personal and educational qualifications and communication details. Applicants under any reservation category must follow the authorities' guidelines and instructions.

Step III - Uploading Photo and Signature

After entering all the required details, candidates must upload their photograph and signature. The documents uploaded to the CUSAT DAT 2025 registration form must follow the specifications. 

Photograph specifications -

• The passport-size photograph must be recent (must be taken within the last six months)
• The face should be visible clearly in portrait orientation with a light colour background.
• The file size of the photograph must be within 500 kb.
• The dimensions of the photograph must be 150 px X 180 px. 

Signature specifications -

• The candidate's signature must be adequately scanned (in landscape orientation).
• The file size must not exceed 100 KB, and the dimensions must be 130 px X 57 px.
• The scanned signature must be in PNG, JPEG, or JPG format. 

Step IV - Programme Selection

The candidates must select their choice of programs or a combination from the drop-down list. Now, select the qualification you will acquire or already acquired. Based on the qualification, a section of the programs will be listed. Candidates must add the programs according to their choices. Click on the “confirm programmes.”

After confirming the programmes, details of the Test Codes will be displayed on the screen (for other courses except M.Tech). The test codes will be available in the information brochure. 

NOTE: Candidates with multiple GATE scores must enter the best score in the column provided in the CUSAT DAT application form. For MTech admission, preference will be given to the candidates with valid GATE scores. 

Non-GATE-qualified candidates must appear for the Departmental Admission Test, which the respective departments will conduct if a sufficient number of GATE-qualified candidates are unavailable.

Step V- Preview of the CUSAT DAT Application Form 

Candidates can preview their application form after submitting the programme and personal details. While previewing the application form, candidates must check all the details carefully. If there is an error in the registration form, candidates can go to the required page and make the necessary changes. 

Candidates must note that once the preview application form is confirmed, one cannot make any other changes. After successfully submitting the application forms, permission may be given to the applicants to edit their personal and programme details entered in the application form only once before the deadline. 

Step VI - Making the Payment of the Application Fees

After confirming the preview application mode, online payment of the application fee must be made. The application fee is non-refundable and is different for all categories. Candidates can pay through all credit cards/debit cards/UPI or netbanking. Once the payment is completed, the application form for the CUSAT DAT MTech course is completed. No test centre selection is required.

After submitting the CUSAT DAT 2025 application form, the university will verify and confirm the application form details. This may take a few days to process. The status of the CUSAT DAT MTech application form can be checked on the university's official website. If the application status is not updated to “Approved” within five days, candidates should contact the “Helpdesk.” After the approval of the application form, candidates can view and download the confirmation page from the candidate homepage. Candidates must keep a copy of the application form for future reference.
