IIITH PGEE 2026 Exam Pattern: IIIT Hyderabad has released the IIITH PGEE 2026 exam pattern along with official admission notification. Candidates applying for the IIITH PGEE 2026 must know the pattern to achieve good scores in the IIITH PGEE exam. The IIIT Hyderabad postgraduate entrance exam pattern comprises the details regarding the test, such as test duration, syllabus, marking scheme, etc.  

As per IIITH PGEE 2026 exam date, the computer-based test will be conducted on May 2 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Candidates who have registered for MTech, MS, and PhD programme, can check the IIIT Hyderabad exam structure, total questions, and negative marking details below.

Q:   Which type of questions will be asked in IIITH PGEE part 2 question paper?
A: 

Objective and subjective type questions will be asked in part 2 of IIITH PGEE 2025. The part 2 questions are subject related. The part 2 questions are based on the subject the candidates have specified in their degree course. The candidtes can fill the part 2 subject while filling the application form.  

Q:   Which type of questions will be asked in IIITH PGEE Part I?
A: 

IIITH PGEE Part 1 question paper will include only objective type questions. The IIITH PGEE exam will include two part. Part 1 is general questions and part 2 is subject oriented questions. The topics included in part 1 are Basic Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Computer Knowledge and Mathematics. The IIITH PGEE part 2 questions are both subjective and objective. 

Q:   How many papers will be there in the IIITH PGEE exam?

There will be two papers namely paper I and paper II. Paper I willl inclue subjects like Basic Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Computer Knowledge and Mathematics. Paper II will inclide Subject Paper (according to the course selected by the candidates). Paper I will be only objective type questions. Paper II will be both objective and subjective type questions.

IIITH PGEE 2026 Exam Pattern

IIITH PGEE 2026 exam pattern is a computer-based test comprising objective and subjective questions. The examination will be conducted in two sessions, each of 90 minutes. Read below for more.

  • Paper I of IIITH PGEE is a mandatory paper consisting of objective questions.
  • Time duration is 90 minutes and questions are asked from basic aptitude, fundamental on computers, mathematics, and logical reasoning.
  • IIITH PGEEE paper II, candidates have the option to choose one subject paper.
  • The test duration is 90 minutes and questions are asked -subjective and objective.

Applicants should appear for one of the following relevant subject papers based on their graduation discipline -

  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
  • Civil Engineering (CIVIL)
