WBCS Notification 2025: WBPSC Official Notification PDF Download Link

The West Bengal Public Service Commission is expected to release the WBCS 2025 notification and online applications soon on its official website. The candidates should note that the WBCS 2025 exam will be conducted based on the new syllabus and exam pattern released by the Commission. 

Now, there will be two objective-type question papers in the WBCS prelims exam and the paper 2 will be qualifying only. The candidates can see here the details of WBCS syllabus 2025.

The West Bengal Public Service Commission notify the languages in which the candidates can answer in the WBCS main exam. The prelims exam is an objective type exam and the candidates are required to select correct answer from the given options. 

In the WBCS main exam, the candidates can answer in Bengali, English and Nepali. The candidates can write the answers in Nepali for the following two subjects

1.   Political Science 

2.   Botany

The West Bengal Public Service Commission releases the WBCS notification on its official website only. The candidates will be required to check the official website to read and downlaod the WBCS notification. The candidates should note that the WBCS notification mention the WBCS exam dates, vacancies, eligibility conditions, syllabus, exam pattern and other important informations. 

The candidates will be able to download the WBCS notification in the following manner:

• The WBCS 2024 notification will appear on the screen

The West Bengal Civil Service Exam is conducted to recruit eligible candidates for various posts under the state government, such as Deputy Superintendent. The eligibility criteria to apply for WBCS are as follows:

1. Nationality: The candidate must be Indian to apply for WBCS. The WBCS exam has no mandatory state domicile rule. 

2. Age: For the West Bengal Police Service, the minimum age must be between 20 and 36. Other positions have a minimum age requirement of 21 to 36.

3. Education: The applicant must be a graduate of a recognised university to apply for WBCS. 

4. Physical Standard: There is a minimum height requirement to apply for the West Bengal Police Service. It is 1.65 meters for male candidates and 1.50 meters for female candidates.

The West Bengal Public Service Commission mention the age limit for the exam in the official WBCS notification. The Commission is expected to release the WBCS 2025 notification soon on its officail website. The age limit conditions for the WBCS Group B service are very peculiar. The age limit prescribed for the WBCS Group B Service is between 20 to 36 years. Candidates applying for Group B must ensure they fall within this age range to be eligible for the service.

The candidates who are between 20 and 21 years of age are eligible to fill out the form for WBCS 2024 but only for the Group B services. 

 

The West Bengal Public Service Commission can provide the WBCS application correction facility this year. The Commission will mention for such facility in the official notification. Normally, once the application form for the WBCS exam is submitted, candidates cannot edit the mandatory fields. It is crucial to ensure all information is accurate before confirming the application, as no edits will be allowed once the application is confirmed.

The application process for the West Bengal Civil Service 2024-25 exam is expected to start soon. The West Bengal Public Service Commission is expected to release the official notification dates in the WBPSC exam calendar. 

The WBPSC WBCS exam will be conducted offline only across the state.

The WBCS prelims exam pattern is expected to be changed and there will be two multiple choice objective type question papers in the WBPSC 2025 prelims exam. There is a provision of negative marking in the prelims exam as well. The quantum of negative marking will be mentioned in the question paper.

The WBCS 2025 notification is expected to be released soon by the West Bengal Public Service Commission.

The candidates should note that the WBCS main syllabus can be said as the extension of the prelims syllabus because some of the sections are common in both the prelims and main exam. The candidates are suggested to prepare for the main exam with factual orientation so that they can answer prelims questions also. The candidates arre required to check their preparation through the previous year question papers.

The total marks of the West Bengal Civil Service exam is 200 only. There are 8 sections in the paper and each carry 25 marks.

In the WBPSC WBCS exam, there are a total of eight papers. These papers include:

• Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali
• English
• General Studies - I
• General Studies - II
• The Constitution of India and Indian Economy including the role and functions of the Reserve Bank of India
• Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning
• Optional Subject - 1 subject to be chosen; 2 papers of 200 marks each
• Personality Test

Hi, Nikita as far as my own experience of taking this exam is concerned, you do not need coaching for this. Self study is the best option in this regard but you have to get hold of right books. One thing you can do is enroll yourself for mock test series of a coaching institute and RICE is by far the best in business in the state. So, you may go for that but only after you are done with your syllabus preparation.

WBCS exam has the following stages. Each stage has uncommon exam pattern. The three stages of the exam are as follows.

• Prelims
• Mains   
• Personality Test

The candidates need to qualify in each of the stage to get finally select.
