DU Admission Process

Admissions to the various courses offered at DU-affiliated colleges are done through CUET. The admission process for UG and PG programmes has the following steps.

Step 1 - Register for CUET-UG or CUET-PG

Aspiring DU students must register themselves for CUET-UG or CUET-PG based on the programme that they wish to enter. The applications for CUET are available on dedicated NTA portals (separate for both exams). Once they've registered, they are issued city intimation slips and admit cards to appear for this common entrance test.

Step 2 - Appear for CUET

Registered candidates must then appear for CUET. The test schedule is announced by the NTA. The test for different subjects is held on different days and shifts. This online test features multiple-choice questions based on logical reasoning, quantitative ability (depending on the chosen subject), general awareness and subject-specific knowledge.

Step 3 - CSAS Registrations

Students who have taken CUET then have to register themselves on DU's Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). It's an online process and can be done on DU's official website.

Step 4 - File Preferences

After registering on the CSAS, candidates must enter their preference for DU courses and colleges.

Admission to PhD Courses - From the academic year 2024-25, DU is accepting UGC NET scores for admissions to their PhD programmes. Depending on the department, DU may also conduct their own entrance exams for PhD programmes. Candidates who are shortlisted for admission are typically interviewed.
