Well, you can teach botany at the school level, as you have a graduation degree in this subject. However, you will need to have some other additional qualifications to become a botany teacher:
1. To become a PGT teacher (a teacher of the 11th and 12th grades), you will need to have a B.Ed. degree as almost all schools require a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed. ) in addition to a graduation in relevant subjects.
2. Also, some schools require you to have an aggregate score of 55% in either both graduation and B.Ed. or just in B.Ed.
3. Further, if you want to apply to a government school, you might need to qualify through entrance exams like the CTET exam or a state exam. If you want to teach at higher levels, like colleges, you will need to clear the UGC NET exam as well, and then you may be able to teach microbiology, as this was your major subject in postgraduation.
