Overview

The AP LAWCET Exam 2026 counselling is expected to begin soon for admission to 5-year and 3-year LLB courses. The counselling schedule is yet to be announced. The exam conducting body will soon release the cutoff for admission to the AP LAWCET participating colleges. The APSCHE has released the toppers list for the candidates who appeared for the exam on May 20, 2026. Muppa Snehra has secured AIR 1 with 107 marks in the AP LAWCET 5-year LLB. The AP LAWCET exam was held on May 4, 2026 in online mode at the designated test centres. The answer key was released on May 7, 2026, and the objection window closed on May 9, 2026. The exam conducting body released the AP LAWCET result on May 18, 2026. AP LAWCET Counselling 2026

The candidates who aspire to get admission through the AP LAWCET counselling are advised to read the counselling process as mentioned below:

  • Candidates need to register for the counselling process online. They will have to provide details such as name, address, qualifying exam details, APLAWCET scores, etc.
  • This allows them to select their choice of colleges for admission. However, the admission will be based on the merit achieved in the APLAWCET exam.
  • The APSCHE will release the seat allotment list based on the merit achieved and the preference of college. 
  • Candidates whose names will appear in the seat allotment list will have to visit the allocated college for seat confirmation and document verification. 

Below are some of the guidelines to be followed during the AP LAWCET counselling registration.

  • Candidates will be required to upload the documents as required for verification purposes.
  • The online verification of documents will be done, after which the verified candidates will have to participate in the web-option process to select their choice of colleges.
  • Once the web option process completes, the seat allotment list will be released, after which candidates will have to report to their allotted colleges for seat confirmation.

AP LAWCET Result Evaluation Criteria 2026

To pass the AP LAWCET 2026, candidates must score a minimum of 35%. However, they need to note that admission to a particular college through the AP LAWCET exam will depend on the cutoff determined by the college authorities. 

Merit List

The AP LAWCET merit list will be released with the AP LAWCET results 2026. Based on the scores obtained by candidates, a merit list is prepared. Ranks are assigned to candidates according to the scores they obtain on the merit list. The AP LAWCET merit list 2026 is the same as the AP LAWCET rank list.  

Tie-breaking Criteria

In a case where two or more candidates achieve the same marks in the AP LAWCET, a tie-breaking criterion is used to decide their rankings. The tie-breaking criteria are mentioned below:

Criterion 1 When two candidates have the same score, the candidate with the higher score in Part C of the AP LAWCET question paper will receive the higher rank.

Criterion 3 If the marks obtained by them in Part C are still the same. The marks scored by them in Part B are considered for tie-breaking.

What is AP LAWCET?

The Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test (AP LAWCET) is a state-level law exam held by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, for APSCHE. It gives admission to law courses in Andhra Pradesh universities and affiliated colleges. The AP LAWCET exam is a computer-based test for 90 minutes in English and Telugu for both 3-year and 5-year LLB courses. The AP LAWCET question paper has 120 objective questions from GK, Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Law Aptitude.

AP LAWCET Application Form 2026

The AP LAWCET 2026 form correction facility closed on April 8, 2026, at cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/LAWCET. Candidates were allowed to make changes to the application form in a single-day window. The application process closed on April 6, 2026. The AP LAWCET 2026 application window without late fee payment closed on March 20, 2026. Steps to fill the AP LAWCET 2026 application form

  1. Registration and payment of application fee - The candidate will be required to enter details like name, qualifying exam hall ticket number, mobile number, email ID, and date of birth. Then, they have to select the stream and pay the application fee. 
  2. Fill out the form - After the fee payment was done successfully, the candidate could proceed to fill in the rest of the application form - personal, academic, and contact details. Also, select a test center.
  3. Upload documents - The candidate was required to upload a photograph and signature in JPEG format

AP LAWCET 2026 Admission Process

The entire AP LAWCET 2026  admission process will be online and described as follows:

Step 1: AP LAWCET Registration and Fee Submission

The AP LAWCET application form 2026 is available online on the AP LAWCET 2026 official website. You need to pay the exam fee first and then fill out the form with your personal and study details. The AP LAWCET registration 2026 fee must be paid as mentioned in the form section for LLB courses.

Step 2: Download Admit Card

After finishing the application, you can get your AP LAWCET hall ticket to attend the exam. The admit card shows your test centre, exam date, time, and other rules. To download it, log in using your registration number and date of birth on the official site.

Step 3: Appear for AP LAWCET 

The APSCHE holds the AP LAWCET exam in computer-based mode for 1 hour 30 minutes. You must go to your test centre with your AP LAWCET admit card and one valid photo ID proof.

The AP LAWCET result is announced about a month after the exam. Candidates who score at least 35% out of 100 marks get a rank in the merit list for the next round.

The AP LAWCET counselling happens based on the merit list. You must choose your preferred colleges through the web options entry. After that, seats are allotted, and you can confirm your admission by verifying documents. Candidates need to pay the course fee.

Candidates need to know the AP LAWCET eligibility criteria before applying for the AP LAWCET 2026 exam. The eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

  • Candidates must have passed graduation in a (10+2+3/4) format from any recognised college or university. 
  • The minimum qualifying marks for general or open category candidates in AP LAWCET 3-year LLB programme is 45%
  • The minimum qualifying marks for EWS and SC/ST category candidates are 42% and 40%, respectively, for the AP LAWCET 3-year LLB course

Note: Candidates waiting for their Class 12 result or graduation final result could also apply for the AP LAWCET 5-year LLB and AP LAWCET 3-year LLB programmes, respectively. But they must have their final marksheets at the time of AP LAWCET counselling or admission.
