Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education will soon announce AP LAWCET counselling dates 2026 for admissions to 3-year LLB, 5-year LLB and LLM programmes. Candidates who qualified in entrance exams can participate in AP LAWCET 2026 counselling. As per last few year’s update, AP LAWCET counselling registration is likely to begin in July or August 2026.

As of now, APSCHE has not yet release official AP LAWCET counselling schedule. To participate, candidates need to complete AP LAWCET counselling registration online at official website cets.apsche.ap.gov.in. Around 23,996 candidates appeared for exam and over 19,000 qualified. AP LAWCET Counselling 2026

Qualified candidates can take part in AP LAWCET counselling. They can check details below

  • Candidates need to register for AP LAWCET counselling online. They will have to provide details such as name, address, qualifying exam details, APLAWCET scores, etc.
  • This allows them to select their choice of colleges for admission. It must be noted that admission will be based on marks obtained in APLAWCET exam.
  • APSCHE will release seat allotment list based on marks and preference of college. 
  • Candidates whose names will appear in seat allotment list have to visit allocated college for seat confirmation and document verification.

  • Candidates have to upload documents as required for verification purposes.
  • Online verification of documents will be done, after which candidates will have to participate in web-option process to select their choice of colleges.
  • Once web option process completes, AP LAWCET seat allotment list will be released. Those selected have to report to their allotted colleges for seat confirmation.

AP LAWCET Result Evaluation Criteria 2026

To pass AP LAWCET 2026, candidates must score a minimum of 35%. It must be noted that admission to any college through AP LAWCET exam depends on cutoff determined by respective authorities. 

AP LAWCET Result Tie-breaking Criteria

In case where two or more candidates obtains same marks in AP LAWCET, tie-breaking criterion is used to decide their rankings. They can check table for detailed information

Criterion 1 When two candidates have same score, those with higher score in Part C of AP LAWCET question paper will receive higher rank.
Criterion 2 If tie still exists, seniority in age will be considered for admission through AP LAWCET and AP LAWCET ranking.
Criterion 3 If marks obtained by them in Part C are still same. Marks scored by them in Part B are considered for tie-breaking.

What is AP LAWCET?

Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test (AP LAWCET) is a state-level law exam held by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, on behalf of APSCHE. Through APLAWCET, candidates can apply for admission to law courses in Andhra Pradesh universities and affiliated colleges. AP LAWCET exam is held in computer-based test for 90 minutes in English and Telugu for both 3-year and 5-year LLB courses. Question paper has 120 objective questions from GK, Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Law Aptitude.

  • On homepage, find and click on registration link

  • Complete AP LAWCET registration by entering all details 

  • Login and fill up application form, upload documents and pay registration fees

AP LAWCET 2026 Admission Process

AP LAWCET 2026 admission process is as follows

Step 1: AP LAWCET Registration

AP LAWCET application form can be filled online at official website. Candidates need to pay fee first and then fill out form with their personal and ediucation details. AP LAWCET registration fee must be paid as mentioned in form section for LLB courses.

Step 2: Download Admit Card

After completing and closing application, they will be issued AP LAWCET hall ticket to attend exam. The admit card shows their test centre, exam date, time and other rules. To download it, they need to log in using their registration number and date of birth at official site.

Step 3: Appear for AP LAWCET 

APSCHE conducts AP LAWCET exam in computer-based mode. Candidates must appear at test centre with their AP LAWCET admit card and photo ID proof.

Step 4: Check AP LAWCET Results

AP LAWCET result is announced about a month after exam. Candidates who score at least 35% out of 100 marks get a rank and are eligible for next round.

Step 5: Counselling and Seat Allotment

AP LAWCET counselling is done based on merit list. Those selected must choose their preferred colleges through web options entry. After that, seats are allotted, and they have to confirm their admission by verifying documents. Candidates need to pay course fee.

APLAWCET 2026 Eligibility 

Candidates need to know the AP LAWCET eligibility criteria before applying for exam. Check table below 

AP LAWCET Eligibility Criteria 
5-Year LLB
  • Candidates must have cleared their (10+2) from any recognised national or state board
  • General or open category candidates need a minimum of 45% marks in their (10+2) exam
  • The minimum qualifying marks for EWS and SC/ST category candidates are 42% and 40%, respectively
3-Year LLB
  • Candidates must have passed graduation in a (10+2+3/4) format from any recognised college or university. 
  • The minimum qualifying marks for general or open category candidates in AP LAWCET 3-year LLB programme is 45%
  • The minimum qualifying marks for EWS and SC/ST category candidates are 42% and 40%, respectively, for the AP LAWCET 3-year LLB course

Note: Candidates waiting for their Class 12 result or graduation final result could also apply for the AP LAWCET 5-year LLB and AP LAWCET 3-year LLB programmes, respectively. But they must have their final marksheets at the time of AP LAWCET counselling or admission.

AP LAWCET exam has sections including Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Contract Law, Constitution, etc. and the CLAT entrance exam sections include English Language, Legal Aptitude, Mathematics, etc. AP LAWCET does not have mathematics subjects, AP LAWCET exam focus more on regional knowledge. CLAT generally covers the deeper aspects of the particular subject.
