How to prepare for ULET 2020 in three months?

The University of Rajasthan will conduct the three-year LLB entrance exam - ULET 2020 in the coming months. The university has not released the admission notification for ULET 2020 as yet. However, candidates should prepare with a tentative schedule for ULET 2020. The exam is expected to be held in a paper-based test mode therefore, it would be conducted in late August. Therefore, candidates have around three months time to prepare for ULET 2020. Here is a preparation strategy for ULET 2020 to cover entire syllabus ad revise in three-months time.

Make a preparation schedule 

This is the first step towards the preparation of ULET 2020 and, candidates should plan it out carefully. To make a preparation schedule, candidates should consider 7-8 hours a day or if they are occupied with something else at least 3-4 hours a day should be sufficient. Now to plan, candidates should focus on each subject of ULET 2020 separately to get good scores. 

  • Candidates should target to achieve a score every month in each month. 
  • They should plan to cover the entire syllabus in the first month itself.
  • Make notes on each topic, interesting diagrams and pointers to learn in a better way
  • Prepare in a strategic manner so as to not stress out during this time

Review the exam pattern of ULET 2020 

The candidates also need to review the exam pattern of ULET 2020 before starting to prepare for the exam. They should understand the subjects, type of questions, marking scheme and weightage. Here is the exam pattern of ULET 2020 for candidate's convenience:

Exam mode The exam will be held in a pen-paper based test mode. 
Exam duration The total duration of the examination will be one hour thirty minutes.
Exam medium The language of question paper will be English and Hindi. 
Total subjects There will be five main subjects in the question paper.
Type of questions The questions will be of multiple choices based i.e. four options against each question to choose the right answer from.
Total marks There will be a total of 150 marks for all sections combined.
Total questions There will be a total of 150 questions overall.
Sectional weightage  Each subject will be carrying 30 questions and marks.
Marking scheme For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded, and no marks will be deducted for wrong attempts.

Segregate the ULET 2020 syllabus basis difficulty level 

Candidates need to go through the syllabus of ULET 2020 and, list out the topics according to the current preparation and difficulty level. Each subject should be approached in a similar manner so that first the difficult topics are dealt with. Thereafter, candidates can prepare the remaining topics. The question paper of ULET 2020 will be based on the following subjects: 

Section 1: General English - Commonly asked topics are Vocabulary, Word meanings, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Sentence correction/ completion, para jumbledIdioms and phrases, Antonyms and synonyms. 

Section 2: General Knowledge and Current Affairs - Commonly asked topics include General Awareness of History, Politics, Economics, Environment, Science and Technology and, Current affairs around the world. 

Section 3: Indian Constitution - Commonly asked topics such as the Constitution of India, Legal Phrases, Public Interest Litigations and Facts, Judiciary.

Section 4: General Science - Common topics of science including, Elementary physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science etc. 

Section 5: Social Science - Common topics including, Historical events, Geographical facts, Political movements in the past, Economics and Civics, Freedom of India, Famous personalities from the past, Wars and battles.

Get books and study material for the preparation 

Candidates have to get study material and books for ULET 2020 preparation according to the subject to be asked in the exam. Here are some recommended subject-wise books for ULET 2020:

Candidates should also get the previous years papers or mock test according to the subjects of ULET 2020 for preparation. They should take mock tests on a regular basis and, analyse the preparation level for each subject. Taking mock tests for ULET 2020 will also help candidates to identify the key improvement areas. They can prepare the gaps accordingly and, then take more mock tests to enhance scores.

Revise everything in the last two weeks 

Candidates should revise all the subjects parallelly with preparation. However, in the last month, they should focus on a rigorous revision of all subjects. The revision strategy for ULET 2020 should be as under: 

  • List out weak areas and revise the key concepts, tricks to solve questions and take help of preparation notes that were prepared in the first month 
  • Take breaks in between to understand and consume the information with a decluttered mind
  • Revision should also be subject-specific and, target 4-5 topics per day
  • Attempting to revise entire syllabus a day before or on the exam day may hamper test-taking confidence or create more confusion so do not plan this
  • Complete revision at least 4-5 days before the exam day, so as to keep the remaining days for preparation of the exam day
