The GMCET 2026 exam dates will be announced soon by the Global Media Education Council on the official website. The entrance exam offers admission to a variety of undergraduate courses and different participating universities. No, the Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET) exam is conducted once every month from March to October. The GMCET entrance exam is conducted by the Global Media Education Council for admission to undergraduate media courses. It is an all-South Asia Global Media Common Entrance Test, conducted in online mode. Universities from India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and other countries offer admission through GMCET scores.

The GMCET exam 2026 will be tentatively conducted in the last week of July 2026, in online mode. Candidates can take the exam from any place from their laptops or desktops. The exam duration is one hour and consists for 100 questions, including 4 sections of 25 questions each. The total marks for GMCET 2026 exam is 100 marks.

Candidates appearing for the GMCET exam can go through the important exam events below.

GMCET Application Form 2026

Primarily, candidates can register themselves on the official website of the GMCET by providing all the required details. They have to fill in their full name and add their active contact number, and a valid email address (as these will be used to send the examination details, like the date and time slot).

Candidates need to enter their state and district. They will have to then agree to the terms and conditions and click on the submit button. Candidates must ensure that the information given to them is valid and correct. Once the registration is done, an automated email with a Username and password will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID/Phone Number for future reference.

GMCET 2026 Test Slots

GMCET is conducted in online mode. Candidates will be given a time slot to appear for the exam a day prior. As per the guidelines, they will be requested to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination. The test slots for the exam day will be informed a day before the examination at the candidate's registered email and mobile number.

GMCET Exam 2026

The GMCET exam duration will be an hour, and the GMCET Question Paper will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions. According to the GMCET exam pattern, the GMCET exam will be of a total of 100 marks and will check the student’s ability in four sections - Section 1: General knowledge of society, politics, economy, history; Section 2: Brands and Business related basic questions; Section 3: Films, television, radio, entertainment related questions; and Section 4: IQ questions, applied ones.

GMCET Result 2026

The Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET) results will be declared on the official website of the exam. Candidates will be able to view their GMCET results by using their login credentials, like the registered email ID and password. The results will be declared rank-wise (All India Ranking).

  • Candidates must have a minimum education qualification of Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent education with a minimum aggregate of 50% for the General Category & 45% for SC/ST/OBC. OR
  • Candidates should be appearing for Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent education.

No, the Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET) exam is conducted only in online mode. Before the exam begins, candidates will be given a time slot to appear. They will get this intimation on their registered email address and mobile number to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination.

Definitely, candidates who are awaiting their results are also eligible to apply. However, in case they qualify for the exam and are selected for the document verification they will have to present their qualification certificates to the authorities before the last date of the admission process. In case they fail to do so, their candidature will be rejected. To prepare for the GMCET exam, candidates first need to make sure that they know the syllabus completley. As per the official notification, the syllabus is divided across 4 sections - English language and IQ, General knowledge of news and current affairs, Entertainment media knowledge, and Brands and brand communication basic knowledge. As per these sections, the questions will be based. There will be 25 questions per section, making a total of 100 questions, with no minus marking.
