FTII JET 2025 Cutoff - The FTII JET revised final merit list has been announced on the official website. The Film and Television Institute of India has released the list of selected candidates (category-wise) and their Final JET Scores (Stage 1 & 2). The selected candidates can now participate in the further stages of the FTII JET 2025 selection process. Those who have their names in the FTII JET final merit list can now confirm their admission by paying the Seat Acceptance Fee of INR 50,000 via the online SBI-Collect Portal. The last date to make the payment is November 10, 2025.

FTII JET Cut off - Minimum Qualifying Marks

As per the official notification of FTII JET, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission into FTII are mentioned below - 

  1. 50% - General category.
  2. 45% - OBC NCL category.
  3. 40% - SC/ST category.

As per the official notification of FTII JET, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission into FTII for candidates with benchmark disabilities are mentioned below:

  1. 40% for the General category.
  2. 36% for the OBC-NCL category.
  3. 32% for SC / ST category

(PWD) - Person with Disabilities

Note: The cutoffs may vary based on the course the candidates choose and the exam year. Students should check the cutoff criteria before applying for admission. This is just to give them an idea about the difficulty level of FTII JET exam.

Q:   How hard is it to crack FTII JET?
A: 

It is a bit tough to crack the FTII JET exam because FTII is the premier film making school in India and aspirants from all over India apply for this coveted exam making the competition a bit tough. To pass through the competition candidates will have to make a proper exam strategy and allot equal time to covering the whole syllabus, solving the question papers and leave good time for revision. In the FTII JET exam students will be judged on their intellectual skills, general studies, English, general knowledge and the prescribed syllabus.

Q:   What types of questions are asked in the FTII JET exam?
A: 

The FTII JET Stage 1 exam has two papers. Paper 1 includes multiple choice question and paper 2 includes descriptive questions. In second part of FTII JET Satge 1 question paper, candidates will have to answer questions in short notes and describe the given sketches and photographs.

Q:   Is FTII entrance exam difficult?
A: 

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) exam is one of the most popular Film and TV exams in India. Every year lots of students apply for the this coveted exam to make a career in the glorious industry of television and media. It is indeed a tough exam but not tougher as compared to other popular government competitive examinations. As per past year analysis, the difficulty level of the FTII JET exam is moderate level. If aspirants prepare well for the exam, they can easily qualify it.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of FTII JET?
A: 

The Paper-I of all the eligible appeared candidates is evaluated. On the basis of the performance in Paper-I, Paper-II (JET exam) is evaluated of only selected number of top scoring candidates (based on the respective category). The roll numbers of the candidates shortlisted for the evaluation of Paper-II, will be published on the website of JET. Further the shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview and orientation process.

After the FTII JET result is declared, candidates who qualified in the test will be called for the further rounds of selection which is interview or audition depending upon which course they have applied for. There will no seperate admit card be released for the interview or the audition round hence candidates are advised to keep their written test admit card safe.

Q:   Does FTII offer Masters courses?

No, FTII doesn't offer any Master's courses. The Film and Television Instiute of India offers admission to only Postgraduate Diploma courses. Candidates should go through the prospectus before filling the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET).

Q:   Which institutes can I get via JET exam?
A: 

On clearing the Joint Entrance Test (JET), students can get admission into Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) as well as the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute of India (SRFTI). These two premiere institutes are the conducting body of FTII JET as well. Candidates who qualify in this exam will be eligibile to take up film making related courses in either of the two institutes.

Candidates who qualify in the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test will be called for the orientation and interview process or audition round (for screen acting).
