Candidates who qualify in the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test will be called for the orientation and interview process or audition round (for screen acting). What After FTII JET Result?
Candidates with their names in the FTII JET Final Merit List will have to participate in the counselling process to confirm their admission at the institute. The FTII JET counselling process includes paying Seat Acceptance Fee to confirm the seat and verifying the documents submitted. The Film and Television Institute of India will release the counselling dates on its official website's Notification Page. If a candidate fails to pay the seat acceptance fee within the given duration, their seat will be offered to the next selected candiate.
FTII JET Medical Test
Selected candidates who will pay the seat acceptance fee will also have to take a Medical Test. The the institute will share process for medical test via selected candidate's registered email ID. Applicants must note that institute has authority to cancel their candidature based on medical test result.

FTII JET 2026 Evaluation Process
The evaluation process for the Joint Entrance Test is explained below:
Paper-I of all the eligible candidates who take the exam is evaluated. Further, based on the evaluation of Paper-I, Paper-II of only a selected number of top-scoring candidates (based on the respective category) is evaluated using the following criteria:
- Only candidates securing a non-zero positive score and ranking within the prescribed cutoff.
- FTII will follow a 1:32 ratio. It means that a maximum of 32 times the number of available seats in each programme will qualify for evaluation of Paper II (category-wise).
The candidates who make it to the Final Merit List have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee to secure their seat and proceed with the further admission process.

Freeze option means that candidate accepts the offered seat and don't want to participate in further rounds of seat allocation.
Float option means that candidate accepts the offered seat but if they are offered admission to a course of higher preference in same or other Institute, they will accept it. Else, the candidate will continue with currently accepted FTII course.
No, there is no such provision for re-evaluation provided by the exam conducting authority for the FTII JET result. However, if candidates find any issue with their answer sheet they can request a review of their answer scripts within a specified time frame after the result declaration but the chances of redressal is very low.

The Film and Television Institute of India will declare FTII JET result 2026 after the Stage 1 exam is conducted. The final merit list will be announced after FTII JET Stage 2 is successfully administered.

1 - Check the email inbox which they used while filling the FTII JET application form 2024.

There is no ideal time for candidates to prepare for FTII JET exam. As there are two stages in exam which are conducted in different months and have different criteria, their required preparation time are different.
For stage 1, students must start preparing for written test, at least 6 months before D-day. As Stage 2 is practical exam, there is no time limit for its preparation.
FTII JET is conducted for admission to various courses in Film and TV wing. The difficulty level of FTII JET is moderate as compared to other government entrance exams for admission to mass communication and media courses. It is possible to crack Stage 1 of FTII JET exam through self-study as it is a written exam. However, cracking FTII JET stage 2 exam with self-study is not possible. For these exams, it is advised that a candidate take help and guidance from teacher, guide, peer, seniors, coaching institute, etc.
