Importance of Extracurricular Activities
At TSM, student-organised activities are an essential component of campus life. Learners of Thiagarajar School of Management are expected to perform numerous management, cultural, and sports activities in addition to being encouraged to participate in various leadership and managerial contests. Students develop diverse skills related to persuasion, collaboration, and socialising through planning and engaging in activities. To meet this objective, the institute offers a number of student clubs from which students can choose based on their interests and capabilities.

Yes, TSM Madurai is an A+ accredited institute by NAAC. The institute has also received many other awards and approvals. College offers degree programmes in affiliation with Madurai Kamraj University. PGDM course at the college is awarded with approval of AICTE.

Yukti
Yukti (which means strategy), Thiagarajar School of Management's annual business school conference, has become one of the major corporate gatherings in South India, with over 800 registrations from many prominent Indian B-schools. Yukti's mission is to foster strong bonds among students in different universities, while also providing opportunities for them to exhibit their learning and persuasion skills. Participants are provided with the opportunity to interact on stage with experienced executives. The latest edition of Yukti took place in February 2022 and featured 11 management events and 9 cultural activities that were all oriented and planned to promote the theme of long-term growth in the workplace and community.
Sports Utsav
Students at TSM are encouraged to participate in various sports like cricket, basketball and other events with excitement and commitment. TSM students have contributed to the institution a great deal of pleasure and happiness with their numerous accomplishments. Sports Utsav, TSM's annual sports celebration, takes place in late February or the beginning of March. The sports tournaments conducted under the umbrella of TSM include HIGH 5 (basketball), INFERNO 2.0 (cricket), TACKLE (football), and TANDEM (volleyball). Sports Utsav is a commercial and inter-business school event. TCS (Chennai), HCL (Madurai), HCL (Trivandrum), RR Donnelley (Trivandrum), and B-Schools like IIM Tiruchirappalli, XIME Chennai, and PSG have all competed in previous tournaments.
High 5: High Five is a Basketball tournament & one of the TSM's most prominent events, with several B-Schools, Corporate, and Alumni basketball players participating every year.
Tackle: TSM's football team is known as Tackle. The team hosts a variety of football tournaments throughout the year. In the month of February, the institution hosts a three-day sports festival in which our alumni, as well as a number of business schools, participate.
Inferno 2.0: Inferno 2.0 is an annual inter-college cricket event held by TSM among B-schools in the month of March. It was first organised in 2010, and since then it is being held every year.
Cultural Programs
Students can engage in a variety of activities, demonstrate their abilities, and improve their organisational skills at the institution. Students organise events such as Levitate, an intra-college cultural festival, the Sangamam and Sayonara events that are designed to inspire and foster friendship between seniors and juniors and a lot more.
Sangamam: TSM organises a fresher's celebration every year called Sangamam, which means 'coming together,' to welcome the fresh batch of aspiring managers. The event is celebrated in such a manner that it promotes and nurtures friendliness among seniors and juniors. It is the outcome of the collaborative efforts of MBA and PGDM seniors. Sangamam takes place at the beginning of September or October.
Sayonara: When the senior students are ready to leave this esteemed institution after completing their studies, they are given a grand farewell known as Sayonara. Now it's the junior students, who express gratitude to their seniors for their support and mentorship throughout their academic year, as well as wish them well in the future. Sayonara takes place in April.
Student-Organised Clubs
Nach club: TSM HR Club was formed to educate students about current advancements in the field of human resource management and to emphasise the relevance of HR management in the business world. The activities that this group organise allow students to gain a first-hand look at how HR works in the real world.
Chandai club: The Chandai Club, a marketing club of TSM is very active. Students compete in a variety of marketing and strategy challenges. To broaden the scope of the students' activities and events, the marketing and strategy clubs have been merged recently. To encourage better involvement, the Chandai club includes both year I and year II TSM students.
Artha club: Artha Club, a finance club is to familiarise students with the numerous facets and intricacies of finance. Students participate in a variety of activities, including portfolio management, stock market simulations, and other finance-related events.
Keizen Club: Keizen is a student-run club that empowers members with the information and resources they need to flourish in the field of operations. The club is for building managers, who want to be ready to tackle the difficulties of tomorrow's dynamic business environment by focusing on the updated operational techniques.
IT club: Students in the IT club learn about the newest analytical tools and keep up with technical advances, such as new ERP software system of some kind of comparable software. It's a collaborative area where students exchange their skills and expertise, resulting in a large pool of information.
Zero gravity club: This is a cultural group, and the students arrange an annual tournament called 'Gravitas' that takes place on campus. The program aims to bring out the students' hidden abilities, while also giving them the opportunity to overcome their stage fright. Besides that, the team prepares a variety of cultural activities for various events and festivals. There are two different bands in the college; Symphonies for music and Xtreme Moves for dance.
Navras club: This club is for bringing out the artistic talents of all students such as acting, direction and photography skills.
Impression club: It is a student-organised club that provides digital promotion and poster making for all other activities, events and festivals in TSM.
We Care club: This club is a social activity club that organises all Corporate Social Responsibility activities such as Blood donation camp, Joy of Giving in October, Women’s day celebration, Lectures related to CSR activities, Tree plantation and voluntary activities.
