What are the major difference in the experience of attending an online class & Brick and Mortar class? What do you find more enjoyable?
-In my opinion, online classes are more enjoyable. I am personally utilising it more and trying to make the most out of it. The main reason is I could study at home and utilise my time in other things as well like doing online courses (currently after lockdown, I have done three courses from MOOC.com and Futurelearn.com) and also, I am taking take the extra effort of writing articles and doing other stuff to learn more. The major difference between online classes and brick and mortar classes is a little difficult e to list because it seems almost the same to me. I feel attentive as online classes are making me technically sound and are easy to adapt, so I do not feel any discomfort. However, there is one major thing that I want to mention here is a distraction from other classmates is more in online classes because they don’t want to study so they make noises, disturb other students, and waste the time of faculties.
Would you prefer to opt for online classes if given a choice? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each online and offline?
-Yes, I would love to opt for online classes at any given time.
-Advantages: Online (Makes me more productive and efficient), Offline (More attentive and less distraction)
-Disadvantages: Online (Network issues), Offline (Only going to college and attending classes was not letting me to other productive work).
How are you making the most of all extra leisure time that you have now?
-Currently, my schedule very busy: writing articles and journals for college, working on major dissertation project work of my college, various assignments, handling placement work of my college through Zoom meeting, reading books, doing online courses for improving my skills and spending time with my family. So, each day, I am trying to make the best out of the current situation.
With exams being postponed, how are you keeping up with extended preparations?
-I revise whatever is taught in college through Microsoft Team daily and doing at least three to four case studies a week related to my course. Moreover, till now, we did not have any dates from college or universities related to the exams.
If you are planning to appear for any competitive exam- how are you making the most of this time?
-At present, I am not doing any preparation for the competitive exam. But yes, in this lockdown, I am thinking to appear for GMAT in 2021 for my PhD and doing research and collecting relevant data. Gathering the information based on how, when and what all are required so that I can start working on it at the earliest.
Are your parents more involved in your ‘college life’ now since they can listen to/ participate in your conversations more easily?
-No, my parents do not get time as they are working from home and have a busy schedule. Therefore, they do not get much time to get involved in my college life.
