Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong has successfully completed the final placements for the batch of 2018-20. According to the placement report of IIM Shillong, with a remarkable 73 per cent increase in the highest CTC, IIM Shillong placements witnessed an average CTC increase of 11.7 per cent from the previous year. The highest offer worth Rs 48.50 lakh was made by Tillomed Laboratories. The placement saw participation from 60 firms, spanning a number of domains such as human resources, IT and analytics, operations, consulting and strategy, finance, general management, and sales and marketing. With 29 per cent of the total offers made to the participants, consulting & strategy emerged as the most favourite domain this year.
The IIM Shillong placement season succeeded by due to the participation from various eminent recruiters including Ola Cabs, PwC, Thomson Reuters, Titan, TresVista, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, United Health Group, Vivriti Capital, Bain Capability Network, Berger, BirlaSoft, Capgemini, CASHe, Cognizant, GroupM, HSBC Bank, JP Morgan & Chase, Nomura Investment Bank, and Zenoti who reaffirmed their faith in the institute. The institute hosted many first-time recruiters, including FIITJEE, Godrej, Great Learning, IDFC First Bank, Indegene, InMobi, Lixil, Mahindra & Mahindra, Moglix, MXV Consulting, Qwixpert, Raam Group, Aditya Birla Capital, Bisleri, ByteDance, Conneqt Business Solutions, Emami Agrotech, Extramarks, and Tech Mahindra. It also saw participation from global recruiters, including ShopUp, and Tillomed Laboratories, that offered roles across consulting & strategy and operations.
With the average CTC of 24 lakh per annum, consulting & strategy emerged as the highest paying domain. The IIM Shillong students have been offered several roles ranging across product management, retail management, risk management, sales and marketing, strategy and operations advisory, analytics, corporate strategy, investment banking, and supply chain management.
