Thiagarajar School of Management is committed to high-quality teaching and collaborative learning and activities.

About Internship at TSM

In a world, where competition is increasing with each and every second, placements have become a measuring unit of success. TSM students are exposed to a wide range of functional areas such as marketing, finance, human resources, operations, and departments of the business such as software, finance, banking, fast-moving consumer goods, manufacturing, and consulting. TSM aims to be the best institution for the students. Hence, the management is always engaged in developing long-term relationships with the institution’s business partners. In recent years, a greater number of new organisations have marked their presence in the college, offering both summer internship programs and final placements.

Internship Opportunities for the Top Courses

Students who are pursuing Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) are provided with summer internship programs (SIP). Summer internship opportunities are not offered for other programmes such as the Twinning programme of PGCM & MS, PhD, and PG DSBA programmes. This is because students with work experience are only enrolled for these programmes and hence they already have industry experience. Summer internship programmes (SIP) are offered to help students obtain additional industry exposure before jumping into managerial roles.

Internship Information

Summer Internship Program (SIP) is offered in both offline and online mode. At the end of the first year, each student is expected to have completed the Summer Internship Program (SIP). The duration of the SIP for PGDM students is three months and for MBA students is two months. TSM mandates that all first-year students should take part in a summer internship in their desired functional area since it is an important element of the program. Each year, PGDM students undergo an internship from April to June, while MBA students do it from May to June. Summer internship programmes provide the opportunity of converting the internship into a preplacement offer (PPO) and assisting students with job placement.
