Being at IIHMR Delhi has given me immense exposure to the industry, says Dr Kalia
IIHMR Delhi, situated in Dwarka, is a beautiful campus with excellent infrastructure and great learning, skill building and placement opportunities. I’m currently in the first year of the two-year curriculum. Ever since the programme commenced, the journey has been full of learning, gaining knowledge and skills. The curriculum that we have is one of a kind and it has modules which focus on almost all verticals and areas of the health industry.
The programme commenced with the non-credit courses like communication lab and human process lab, which helped me be outrageous and gain confidence among my batchmates. Soft skills & Interpersonal skills play an important role in the industry and the institution recognises this and helps the students with suitable modules.
The programme here, is one of a kind that does not focus on just one domain, rather it is based on the entire health vertical, be it the health policies, working of the hospitals or even the financing aspect of the health industry. Sound knowledge and learnings from modules like principles of Health care & Hospital Management, Human Resource Management and Marketing Management give us the skills of being an effective and efficient manager too.
One interesting and special thing about International Institute of Health Management Research - IIHMR, Delhi is that the programme is not just confined to the theoretical aspect, but also its real-life implementation. The programme includes modules that are focused on developing the technical skills too. Modules like essentials of computer services and biostatistics help us in developing them. Research oriented modules like research methodology and epidemiology makes us capable of writing our own research articles.
The two-year programme is not just about modules and theoretical studies. Being at IIHMR Delhi has given me immense exposure to the industry. Regular top Industry Professionals' lectures and E-conferences on various health and hospital related verticals give you the real and on-the- ground picture. It helps in opening our learnings and helps us to get a clearer view of what our goals are.
It has been over six months into the programme and the learning, knowledge, and skills that I have got are immense. The programme is engaging and interesting. I am lucky to have such highly knowledgeable and expert mentors and faculties..
