I underwent a transformation in Asian Business School: Dini Dhawan
It all started with the decision of joining Asian Business School for my PGDM. I am an introvert and have never ever participated in any of the college events during my Graduation as I was working in a private firm that time. So, for me, travelling all way from Dwarka to Noida was a bit difficult that too in an institute where I didn’t know anyone.
During orientation program, we heard that a promotional event is going to happen of an upcoming movie “Lipstick Under My Burkha.” I was very excited as I am a very big fan of actress Ratna Pathak Shah and wanted to ask a lot of questions to her but because of lack of confidence, I couldn’t ask even a single question. That day I was very disappointed with myself. After one week we heard that another promotional event for the film “Indu Sarkar” is going to take place on our campus where film director Madhur Bhandarkar along with the star-cast of the film will be coming and this time I was ready with my questions. This time, I was the first person who stood up and asked a question. This was the result of orientation program organized by the college in which we were forced to take initiatives and participate in group discussions so that everyone can speak and present their views. After that incident, I actively participated in almost every event.
Then we had our first Industrial visit to Coca Cola plant and then again I communicated well with the HR executive of Coca Cola.
Then came the most awaited day, “The freshers’ party.” As being an introvert, I hardly participate in any such activity where I am required to face audience but this time I participated in solo dance and group dance also where I was the lead performer. Performing in front of the crowd was a very big deal for me. But then I remembered the words of our PDCC faculties that “you all are brands” and thus I performed with so much energy and enthusiasm that everyone appreciated my performance and that day I became famous as a performer.
After that, I attended a lot of guest lectures and asked a lot of questions with confidence. Now Dini was not just a performer but a competition for everyone. People started considering me as one of the top 10 students who can get placed in a single go.
After live projects and motivating events, I gained a lot of confidence. I participated in a group dance competition in Annual Fest this year and we stood second.
I along with my other 9 classmates undertook an initiative of teaching underprivileged children in Gyan Kiran Foundation named “I am the change.”
I never participated in sports before, not even in my school time but this time I am participating in Athleema sports event too. Now, I am trying to become an all-rounder.
