Mystory@ Sujay Kumar Sinha

I studied in Patna University. I was pursuing my MBA in the year 2012. During my first 2 - 3 months at college, life was quite boring. I just went to college and came back home. It was only after I made a few friends that I started enjoying college life in earnest. We bunked classes and participated in college activities and events.

In the first semester, I just score 65 % marks. That was a real dampener for me. I found that this way of studying and getting marks was not enough to build my confidence. When you study only for marks, or only from an examination point of view, it will never be enough, you might pass with good marks but it will be tough in the real world. Every student should have proper knowledge of what they are doing or studying.

In the meantime, our college got involved in a controversy related to the University Grants Commission. I would not like to reveal this issue or talk about it in great detail, all I would like to share is that this issue got resolved in a period of 2-3 months but it impacted our last semester exams. None of the college authorities were revealing the truth to us, we eventually got to know of this through the newspapers. Classes were suspended. We even contemplated quitting college. I went to speak to some of my professors about the issue, even went on hunger strike in front of the Vice Chancellor’s office.

Some of my classmates started preparing for government jobs instead. Some of them even qualified. We kept our routine of visiting the VC office time and again. We were harassed but not hopeless. We trusted that the issue will be solved but will take time. That was a tough time for not just us but our parents as well. Finally, after a period of three months, the issue was resolved and the strike was called off. We resumed our classes and got the syllabus for the final semester exams with just 10-12 days in hand for a project submission.

Eventually, we managed to pass. There was uncertainty, turmoil but eventually we managed to overcome it all. That’s what a life is all about.

I will add that all those who go to college, live this life fully, study hard because a tough, hard and responsible life is waiting ahead. So accept the challenge and win.
