Welingkar Mumbai: m&e review 2024 good course.
Placements: Since I have just reached the second year, we will start getting placed in September-October. But, in general, over 300 companies come to campus for placements, and the highest package of the batch was 40 LPA last year. The average package is around 10-11 LPA. All students from our course got internships in different roles like sales, marketing, finance, client servicing, HR, etc., in marketing agencies, real estate companies like Runwal, Rustomjee, and many more renowned companies. Top roles offered are marketing manager, studio manager, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is nice. It has Wi-Fi, well-built classrooms with smart boards, an amphitheater, an auditorium, a canteen, and much more. The college has hostels, not within campus, but in nearby areas like Dadar, Wadala, and Matunga. It doesn't provide food, only stay.
Faculty: The faculty members are great, we also have external faculty members who come from industries and renowned companies. Teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is great, up to standards, and follows the latest trends. We also have additional industry sessions and seminars for more knowledge and information. The difficulty of exams is medium and results come in CGPA.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in the media and entertainment sector. The best things about the course are that we have media-specific subjects and industry speakers as well. We have an annual management fest, Webiz. The campus crowd is good, and we have many extracurricular activities and volunteering opportunities too.

A bit of a rollercoaster ride but overall a good experience.
Placements: No, there are no placements done yet, but we are promised of them by the end of this month and we were called for interviews by companies but some of them get selected. You have to look for opportunities on your own and basically you have to save yourself.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty good and it will make you feel as if you are in a 5 star hotel, be it the classrooms, leisure rooms, dorm rooms, gaming room. The canteen and the library are well maintained. Toilets are always clean and the classrooms have well conditioned AC with big monitors and projectors.
Faculty: There were no exams for this course. The faculty was super cool with the marks and used to give marks on the basis of assignments, ppts and other submissions. We never had to worry about failing in this course and the faculty shared their notes and ppts with us.

Good placements, supporting faculty members and a competitive environment to learn.
Placements: From my senior batch, approximately 85% of students in my course got placed in my senior batch. The highest package of 18 Lacs was offered by Amazon, which was the highest amongst all specialisation. Average was 6 Lacs and the lowest was 3.5 Lacs. In my current batch summer internship was badly affected due to COVID 19 pandemic as it was the peak time of March- april when the media companies usually start hiring. Although there was full support from placement department and they somehow managed to get all the students placed. Top roles were client strategy at JioSaavn.
Infrastructure: With respect to infrastructure, college is well-equipped with appealing classrooms and boardrooms and IT labs and Wi-Fi enabled campus. Also a big library with the latest books and magazines. There is a boy's hostel 2km away from campus, while girls are offered rented flats managed by College authorities. The canteen food is a little expensive and not that tasty. College has an average gym recently renovated and a small room to play table tennis and pool table.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and usually they are guest faculty members as they belong to media background. Teaching quality is good. A little strict on attendance as it is 75% and also you get debarred in subjects if you don't manage to maintain it to that level. Apart from that curriculum is well balanced. In first year you will probably have common subjects belonging to all the specialisation like hr, marketing operations etc. Next year you have proper subject covering media based knowledge.
Other: I wanted to do something in creative field so after engineering I chose to shift to media industry. Best thing is we sometimes have opportunities to meet great artist and seek knowledge from them. In improvement I would suggest to have better faculty members which are full time facilities. Also with respect to placement I would want more companies specific to media with better roles. Extra curricular is fine. Have various internal competitions and also it depends on students if they want to externally take part in the competition. Although travel tickets are reimbursed upto 10000 per person and full if you win.

Quality education but placement dissatisfaction (2019).
Placements: Being in last year of course, placement season has just begun. 1. Till today, 5% of student has been placed. 2. The highest package is 9.5L, the lowest is 3.75L p. a. for avg, consider it to be 7L as of now. 3. BFSI sector is offering the highest (Infosys, Accenture, PWC) on other hand media agencies offering the lowest (the small big idea, FCB) 4. Roles - analyst, strategic management, SAP. Out of 55 students, 40 students got Internship via college and rest got via other sources such as LinkedIn, Naukri, etc. Internship was in media, BFSI, FMCG.
Infrastructure: 1. Classrooms are nice. Instead of Wi-Fi, they have an intranet which has speed issues sometimes. Library facility is up to the mark. 2. Won't be able to answer as not staying in hostel, but what I have heard is, it's good (but no mess food facility). Students order food from Zomato, Swiggy, tiffin services.
Faculty: 1. Yes, indeed. The quality of education is on par. Industry experts do come and teach certain subjects which helps to learn the industry perspective too rather than theory lecture. Also, they organize additional workshops to cover certain topics.
Other: 1. The curriculum/subjects which have been offered are relevant. Also, the best thing is industry experts come and teach us the same. 2. Placement scenario could be improved. 3. There are no such extracurricular activities except the cricket match organized by college.

Neutral. Not satisfied.
Placements: 1. 5% of students got placed in the campus interview 2. No idea about the salary bracket 3. Mainly Start ups, no big organizations as such 4. Executive/entry level was the profile 5. Salary was in between 3-3.5 lacs per year 6. 4-5% of students got placed.
Infrastructure: 1. We had all the facilities like Wi-Fi, a good IT lab, and a good library with the latest books 2. Hygene in canteen was not up to the mark. We had first aid kit on every floor and there was no sports for our course 3. Sports should be included at times.
Faculty: Professors were really good as they belonged to the industry quality was very good. Sharing their experience and motivation was the key to understand how our near future would be students get the basics clear and they are ready to for the industry.
Other: I wanted to do my career In advertising. Best thing was, we had a term which included films and it's business. Practical knowledge should be included a lot events were good, campus crowd is good and environment too.

Q:   can I get Welingkar Mumbai with a 70 percentile in CAT?
A:

No, you can't avail PGDM course at 70 percentile, you should atleast have 85 percentile in CAT. As per the Welingkar Mumbai CAT cutoff 2024, the last-round Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) course stood at 85 for admission to institute for the General category students in the All India quota. So, the assumed expected cutoff for the upcoming admission session 2025 can stood at 85 for the General AI category candidates. Although, it is an estimated guess and the NEET cutoff is subject to many factors such as competition, difficulty level of the exam, and previous year trend.

This course has started two years back only. There are many good media houses, which have come for the placements. As the batch size is small, thus placement opportunities are good.
